Had him for Astro 1, he's a little dry but nice enough and funny sometimes. Grades on 4 tests throughout the semester + the final exam. Quizzes are given when attendance is low so don't skip too much. Textbook reading was assigned but I did fine with just the lecture notes.

He is a really sweet guy, and he makes lecture as fun as he can. Tests are VERY difficult though. Take notes, read the book, and don't skip class! He has a 12 point grading scale instead of a 10 so that is helpful since his tests are so difficult, but it was still difficult for me to make a B.

Your overall grade is basically 3 tests, a final, and some extra credit "quizzes" he gives when not that people attend and are super easy one question ones. Show up, take notes, read the book, and you should be fine. Overall super funny, nice guy who knows his stuff.

I loved him as a professor. His tests are very hard but if you show up to class and listen to his review session you should be fine.

I took Astronomy I and II. He was a fantastic professor and makes it easy to comprehend. Studying for the tests is VERY important but the final is all of the pervious test questions so it's easy to make a 100 and boost your grade.

Diverts from the lectures a lot to try and make jokes, which can be a little annoying sometimes, but he's a nice, good teacher. Gives you random and frequent attendance "quizzes," which he gives you the answers to, so, basically, go to class everyday and keep up and you'll be fine.

Looks like Luke Skywalker and Dexter had a kid. He's really scattered on his lectures so read the book. His tests are HARD - his questions are really tricky (though I don't think he means them to be). I went into this class loving Astronomy and wanting to learn but now I almost hate it. He doesn't explain anything clearly so it's not that easy.

LUKE SKYWALKER is teaching astronomy at ASU! It was such a trip studying space with a Jedi! Take note: He is EASY for AST 01, study powerpoint presentations and lightly cover the book for tests. He is more DIFFICULT for 02, mainly because he does not follow his powerpoints and mostly the book. If you keep this in mind, your golden. Loved this class

He is a great teacher. The only thing you need to watch out for is the quizzes that he gives maybe once a week. He literally tells you the answers though so it is only for taking attendance. He also takes a lot of the test questions from the book, so all you need to do is review your notes, make some note cards, and read the chapters in the book.

You will love this class! Lectures on Powerpoints. All test material comes from notes. Has test review days (in class) before test day! Not mandatory attendance, but will give a RIDICULOUSLY easy attendance quiz if not many people show up. Seriously...failing the final is near impossible!! Class gets out early most days! Will enjoy this guy!!

He is a cool guy, all notes on powerpoints, have to read textbook some. Gives really easy attendance quizzes. The tests can be kind of hard, lots of tricky questions. Do NOT have a cell phone on in class or he will take 5 points off your test grade AND the people sitting beside of you!!!!

Class is pretty easy, but you can learn a lot if you pay attention. It's always a plus to get to use telescopes in a lab.

Nice guy. You either do really well in his class, or die trying. The more I study the worse I do. Lab is fun and usually lets out 30-40 minutes early. Lecture attendance is not required, but gives 8 random att. quizzes (auto. 100).

Takes an interesting topic like astronomy and makes it incredibly boring. Class is short and tests are pretty harmless. Lab "cohort" Shannon isnt too bad but grades lab activities too strictly. Took off points for me putting 8 instead of 8.0.
