By far one of the best professors in the COMM department! He is hilarious and tells great stories to his students. He always tells you what to expect in the course and be sure to participate. Do well on the group panels. 2 oral exams and 2 panels, I had him for 315 and 416 and definitely learned a lot. I would take him again if I could.

Dr. Jones is a sweet old man who is full of stories to tell (expect him to get side-tracked from lecture at least a few times a day). If you actively participate and do well on the oral midterm and final, you should have no problem getting an A or B. He also likes to throw in some group work here & there I took persuasion and discourse & rhetoric.

Dr. Jones is by far the best teacher in the Communication department at UIC. He is animated, loves what he does, knows how to teach, and very helpful. He is also mildly hilarious - to the point where I've laughed so hard in class I've cried. Definitely take his class, you learn A LOT and have fun doing it!

Had Jones for 416&315. Learned more from him regarding life and the real world rather than the course information; and I am 100% okay with that. If you take him you'll find out his wise words and advice will stay with you beyond the semester.

LOVE LOVE LOVE HIM! You knew exactly what he wanted you to do and how to get an A. Do it and you will. If you don't come to class or read then you won't. Its that simple. He was really nice and really funny too which helped class go by.

He is a fun guy, but lectures can be boring. You go through the chapters in class, and then answer a few questions verbally. There are 2 tests, mid-term and final, 50 multiple choice based on the readings. If you have to take any Comm class, take it with Jones.

Excellent professor. Very experienced, funny and he even does magic tricks. The only down side is that he tends to side track and sometimes you don't know when to take notes. Overall, I really liked Dr. Jones, what a nice person!

Even though some of his stories are completely off topic and take half the class period, he is still a really good professor. Only two exams, he takes attendance only on days where it's evident that not everyone is there, and I've gotten 2 A's with him already. Just go to class, skim the books and listen.

This class had two tests and only a couple small assignments.He's a nice guy, but his curves were not curves at all and I learned absolutely nothing.Also, attendance is mandatory but you do not receive points for sitting there and listening to stories.I think it was a useless class and its time for this professor to move on to move on and retire.

i dont know why people are complaining... hes a great professor and you'll learn alot from him, i mean come on he's won like 60 something awards for being such a great professor, that should say alot... the bad part, his TAs grade.. definitely one of the best professors i had, attendance counts but hes so interesting that i dont mind class w/ him!!
