Professor makes the effort to help you to pass the class. His explanation are clear. However, he doesn't get in details in subjects you supposed to know such as algebra. He gives extra credit (problems, projects to get points).

Mr Kelley is super nice and great one-on-one , but he is not the best are presenting concepts and formula during the lectures. His notes on the whiteboard can quickly go all over the place, he often gives tips/context which are super helpful but does not write those on the board. If you can get to the Sat Panera session, you will do well. Do the HW

This was probably the hardest math course I've taken thus far, but Mr. Kelley is awesome at what he does. I recommend always attending every class and having your textbook to refer back to in class. He is also very open to questions during class so never hesitate to ask. Attend all study sessions on Saturdays and you should do well. Do all HOMEWORK

Don't take him if you are not good at math! He lectures really fats and skips over how he gets to the answer. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you skip class you'll be completely lost. There aren't a lot of test or quizzes so if your grades are low, it will result in a bad course grade. Also, there is no extra credit.

Professor Kelley is a good professor, he is there for you as long as you seek help. He even does study session at a local Panera Bread on the weekend, which allows you to get one on one study time. He's kind of socially awkward and talks to himself sometimes when he teaches. DO THE HOMEWORK if you want to pass, I could have done better but oh well.

a great guy! My brother and I took this class in fall 2015. He was a great and funny instructor. It is hard to find a good instructor for math and finally we found one. His study guides are almost reflection of the test. If you study his study guides you will definitely get an A! He meets his students in outside of the campus at weekends!Amazing!

I took his class after a long hiatus from school to clean up my GPA. I have taken a lot of math classes in NOVA and his class is the only class I've gotten an A from. He's a very clear and concise when it comes to lectures. Doesn't check homework, but you have to do them if you want to pass. Take him if you want to learn!!

I never liked math I only took this class because it's a requirement. I had a bad semester, so I didn't have enough time to study and I kept getting Fs on tests and quizzes except for some. I thought I would fail but he gave me a passing grade because I never skipped class. If you respect him then he will like you. He's a nice person.

Took my final exam last week and I can honestly say I learned about 95% of the material thanks this professor. DO ALL THE HOMEWORK and then come back with any questions as his class structure allows for an easy way to never stay behind. He was so accommodating that he offered tutoring at a nearby bakery on the weekends (I never attended).

I am taking this summer class and he is the worst teacher I have ever have. Two things are irritating (1)he assumes that we know it. He thinks we know the link between sections. (2)he keeps emphasizing many things in the book are irrelevant, which is absolutely not true. Worst thing, he never know the answers to the questions.

Highly recommended. Awesome professor. I like his way of teaching. He also gives generous extra credit assignments, so you have a lot of opportunities to improve your grade. BUT, he wants you to walk out of the class and at least learn something about the course, so you should work hard to get an A.

Awesome teacher. I took MTH 173 and 174. Also taking 285 and 291. I wish he teachs Vectort Cal (MTH 277). Highly recommend him.
