This teacher fun. He jokes around but at the same time he is very professional. He tells it like it is. He is very smart, he knows his material well. He cancels class a lot but if class isn't canceled I highly recommend attending. If you know his lectures and read the book you'll get an A. I RECOMMEND THIS PROFESSOR!

Nice guy. Tests are somewhat hard. Take notes on the lecture and read the chapters and you should be good. The only problem I had was that when he cancels class he will not e mail you. Usually he will tell you ahead of time when he wont be there though.

Kilkelly is a really cool teacher. He knows his stuff and he'll make sure you get the picture too. Class attendance isn't mandatory although, being in class lectures helps you quite a bit if you're a newcomer in politics.

Great Professor. Explains everything very well. The entire class was based on 3 80 point tests and a 40 question all extra credit final. Easy A if you show up and take notes.

We started off with a large class and after the first test I would say a little over 3/4 dropped it because he does actually test you on the readings he assigns. It was nice to have a prof who actually had us use the texts they assigned us. Good class if you are willing to put in the effort!

A lot of reading and must take good notes. Lectures are clear and at a rate that allows you to keep up. Was hard to get a hold of outside of class but he did take time in class to ask if there were any questions. If you're willing to put in some work and actually do some of that learning stuff, you'll get a good grade. Not a class for slackers.

Does not have office hours, does not answer phone calls, does not email or read emails. Has potential to be a nice person outside of school I would assume, but i would NEVER EVER take him for anything. I found him very boring and unfair on many levels.

Fairly decent. All you have to do is take good notes when he lectures. He lets you use a cheat sheet on all 4 exams. He gives a nice curve and his 4th test is treated as xtra credit- meaning his total points are out of the 1st 3 exams, so however u score on the 4th is just added to your point total u have so far.

Seems like he might be reasonable-- don't be fooled!!! TONS of reading, combined with 3hr classes of boring-ass lectures! Endless notes, anthologies of reading-- but make sure remeber the color hat of Nguyen Zhit Phan Wolly-bing-bong Dhaom's half-brother come test time!!!

I would not recommend taking this course with this teacher. It is very hard to stay awake in his classes, even at 11am, due to his boring monotone voice. What he talks about in class doesn't even make up for half of his 80 point tests, which leaves a lot of individual reading and learning on your part. Don't take this class if he is your prof.

His tests are hard, but he is very very knowledgable on what he teaches. He has great understanding of the theory behind political science, and it was an interesting class. Those who complained either didn't attend class, or just didn't try. Hard, but definitely not impossible if you cared and wanted to learn!

I've had Kilkelly for 2 classes, 316 and 411. If you are a freshman slacker, don't take him. If you want a good prof you can learn from, who will challenge you, take him. Kilkelly is the kind of serious prof you'll find at more accredited schools. Very knowledgeable, dry sense of humor, of the liberal persuasion. Great guy, better prof!

Like everyone said...he missed about 3 weeks of class. 80 question multiple choice tests and the info from his lectures were no use...read the book and don't go to class is your safest bet, or best advise is find another professor
