Comment:

Dr. Knox is the sweetest man I have met and truly loves his job. Utilize his office hours- he even gives extra credit for going. His homework assignments are online built into reading that are easy. He gives a study guide before all the tests and seriously if you know the study guide you will get an A. Highly recommend!!! You've got to put in work

Comment:

DR KNOX IS AWESOME! However, Geog1112 is sooo hard. I finished with a B+ after studying A LOT. Weekly homework can be tedious, but it does help learn the topics. I never skipped a class although attendance is not mandatory. Dr. Knox gives good study guides before each test, but they are in total about 250 questions. Great teacher, hard class.

Comment:

Dr. Knox is engaging, kind, and genuinely seems like he cares about his students. He clearly cares a lot about the material and is passionate about what he teaches. The class however is NOT an easy intro class. I wouldnt bank on an A unless you work really hard (expect a solid B if you keep up with the work). AWESOME prof, hard class.

Comment:

VERY difficult class. Dr. Knox is also a very nice guy, and he is very passionate about what he teaches. Never had a teacher so passionate. If you think Intro to Weather and Climate is actually an intro class, you are severely mistaken. Gives study guides with 100 questions, and each question has about 3 questions in 1, but tests are only 60qs.

Comment:

Dr. Knox is seriously the kindest man. Basically Santa but nicer. His class is VERY difficult, so don't go in thinking this is an easy science. Very challenging, but if you study HARD and go to class, you should be okay. Final is cumulative so pretty difficult, but he holds review sessions and wants you to succeed. Love the professor, not the class

One of the best professors on campus. He's smart, funny, and very caring about his students. Tests and homework aren't terribly hard, and he's always available if you need anything.

Ive had 2+ yrs experience with different college professorsDr. Knox is easily the kindest professor Ive ever had. He has office hours multiple days a week, gives extra credit opportunities, and will respond to any questions you have over email. Attendance isnt required but you should go to class if you want to understand. Highly recommend.

The class isn't as hard as people make it out to be because they're not studying correctly. Sit in the front of the room during lecture, take good notes, review notes posted online, and study the study guides for tests. Knox is an amazing professor, genuinely loves what he's teaching, and wants the students to succeed.

LIVE LOVE DR KNOX! He is like if a dad joke came to life. Super knowledgable about weather and has years of experience. Attendance is not required, but you'll want to go! Sure, it's not an easy class - but if you understand the study guides, you'll be fine. He knows all our names in a 150 person class. Weekly kahoots for EC! TAKE THIS CLASS!

Dr. Knox is easily the best teacher I have ever had. He cares so much about his students and is always available to help you. If you know everything on the study guide you will get at least 85% on tests. Office hours are also very helpful. I would 100% take a class he teaches again. THE BEST GUY!! He even makes lectures enjoyable. He is amazing!!!!

Dr. Knox is one of the most caring professors at UGA. He actually cares about students and tries to help them succeed in his class as best he can. Attendance is not mandatory. Tests require lots of studying. Minimal homework assignments due every week. Overall great class, just be prepared to study and put in the work.

Comment:

Although John Knox is a caring, knowledgeable professor he made an Intro to Weather and Climate class that 99.5% of the class was taking for something easy first semester unbearable. It's killing my GPA. Lessons are too in depth and tests are very difficult and cover at least 5 long chapters of advanced weather terms. The average scores are < C+.

Never have I had a college professor care so genuinely for his students. He doesn't offer much extra credit, but he tries to help every student the best that he can. Dr. Knox encourages participation and his door is always open for questions. He structures the class to benefit his students, and he's very knowledgeable about what he's teaching.

Dr. Knox embodies what every professor should strive to become for their students. He would always be welcoming during office hours, would provide interesting stories and demonstrations in class to help learn the material, and would shape the class structure to fit the students. I would take another class with Dr. Knox in a heartbeat.

This class was very difficult and I mostly struggled with the tests. But Knox will go out of his way to make sure you do well, but only if you come to him first. He gives you plenty of opportunities for extra credit, like up to 2.5% added on to your final grade. I wouldn't recommend this class but I would recommend Knox.

Really cares about his students and wants to be there for freshmen as they transition. Great storyteller and hilarious with lots of great ideas and is v knowledgable. Is very open to feedback and encourages participation - would highly recommend especially to incoming freshmen. Also great to go to as an unofficial adviser.

Dr Knox is an extremely helpful guy. He's available to talk about whatever you want during his office hours and will try to help you with anything. He understands students' workload really well, too. I had him for FYOS so I can't judge how he grades most things, but he is a great teacher.

Dr. Knox is absolutely incredible. I've never had a professor who cares more about his students or loves teaching more than he does. If you pay attention and do the work, you'll be totally fine, and he will bend over backwards and more to help you. He's a total dad and loves to make weather fun.

Dr. Knox is the best professor I've had at UGA. He genuinely cares about the students and course and it really shows. There are 3 tests and a final, and his study guides are very specific and useful. Take notes in lecture, do the study guide and do the textbook readings and you will be fine. 15/10 would recommend!!

Dr. Knox loves his students more than anything, but I came into the class looking for an easy A. The class is extremely hard, and you need to read everything that is given to you. If you don't go to class, you will miss his fun lectures and him explaining all the concepts you need to know. Tests are very hard.
