Professor Kosmatka is very knowledgable and considered to be a renowned world expert in aerospace structures. The material is challenging but he does a good job of explaining it in the lecture. It's really important to go to the lectures or you will be lost! He is also very helpful during office hours. Definitely a difficult professor and subject, but also very worth having.

This professor will make you hate engineering and your life. Claims attendance isn't mandatory, but then calls on people randomly in class and throws out their homework if they aren't there. Says finals are officially 3 hours but writes a 4 hour final and suggests you come an hour early.......also doesn't allow you to go to the bathroom....

Shared lectures with Professor Nomura. He's been in the industry forever and knows tips and tricks. He's very calm and his lectures flow. You must read the book though! Lectures are not enough! His tests are on a curve but still difficult. What can you expect with aerospace engineering? Did a balloon project with him and he was incredibly nice.

This class can extremely time consuming, challenging, with tons of homework/assignments, etc, but it's also the MOST rewarding class ever. Just go to class and follow the reader and examples on it and it will be bearable. He's kind of a cocky instructor, but if you get to know him, he actually inspires you to do/be better.

Overall a good class. I have to be completley honest: dont act retarded or asked stupid questions and he wont bash on you. There is a ton of material but once you go through 1 example problem then its cake. He also grades the test very fairly, giving as much points as possible to the student. The class is more interesting then most.

He seems very knowledgeable of aerospace and structural engineering, plus he seems to know a lot about current events going on in the market. Gave us a nice preview of what we have to look forward to. Fair teacher and helpful when wanted. Very nice attitude towards students and has a sarcastic/funny tone in lectures. He rocks.

lectures seem interesting. organized and easy to understand. however, he had to finish so much materials in such short time, he gets frustrated. the flight competition is definately a good hand-on experience and fun! however, he's not so nice during office hours.

This class was extremely inspiring. I actually became an engineer because of this class alone. It really caught my interest and made me wan't to learn. The proffessor was extreamly well prepared. He had plenty of time as well as pascience for office hours. He actualy cared that you were learning.

Not a good teacher. Goes through five times the amount of material than any other professor does in half the amount of time. Expects you to learn things on a whim, and expects to know things you never really learned. Very unfair.

I ended up hating MAE 2 because it didnt suit me but he made it bearable. At his office hours he was SOO helpful, and will practically tell you whats on the quizes. People should give him a break, he can be harsh but overall he's a good straight forward teacher who cares what we think.
