Great professor and a great guy. He really cares about you doing well and learning the material. As long as you show up and pay attention, you will do well. Beware the daily quizzes he gives, and don't skip class too often because there is no making up a quiz. Quizzes do happen often, so if you fail one or two don't stress about it.

The kind of Calc professor you want to have early on in college. HW due two classes later and gives you every chance to ask question. EXPECT a 2 q. quiz every class. His teaching style is very objective as well as descriptive of the underline fundamentals of Calculus. If you skip class he makes a point of saying your name louder in attendance.

Great teacher! From first impressions you might think of him as a little scary, but once you get settled in class, you realize he's a very nice guy. He teaches through examples so make sure to take notes on everything done on the board. 1 Question Pop quiz every other day if not everyday, usually on stuff taught the day before. Attend class.

Awesome professor. Lahoud is an awesome, caring guy who teaches very fast, but very thoroughly and understandable. He is very fair about grading, wants you to pass and is a very nice guy. Makes calc 1 both enjoyable and understandable.

Professor Lahoud was one of my favorite professors. He taught a bit fast but cared about everyone's understanding of the material and by the end of each class, He would ask if there were any questions and not a single hand would go up. Hes very caring and a great story teller on top of a great teacher.

Professor Lahoud is one of the greatest teachers I've ever had and turned me from a guy who hates math into someone who now loves it. He explains the material perfectly, but he sets the bar extremely high for his students. Work hard, rise to his standards, and you'll walk out knowing that you KNOW Calculus and can differentiate anything.

Professor Lahoud inspired me to change my major to something math related. Although he's a little rough around the edges, he really cares about teaching, always shows up to class on time, and really understands the material in and out. Just be warned though, if you don't try in his class, then he will not care about teaching you.

Great professor. Knows his stuff thoroughly and makes the course interesting. Expects a certain level from his students. Does take around 16 quizzes in a semester but it helps you prepare for the exams well. Found the course pretty easy and his lectures made it more easier. He's extremely flexible with assignment due dates.

John Lahoud was one of the only good professors I had at Umass Lowell. He genuinely cared about every student grasping the material, and tried his best to explain things as complete and thoroughly as possible. He made Calc as enjoyable as he possibly could, incorporating his beautiful humor and vegetable leather woven shoes. What a guy,

I took his 8 AM Calc I class after being out of school for more than 10 years. It was incredibly challenging at first, but he was very helpful by providing me with personalized feedback to show me the areas where I needed to study, (trig functions and natural logs were my problem)

He goes kind of quick(one section a day)but he doesn't mind slowing down and going into detail about anything. He wants every student to do well and does his best to have everyone understand the material. He gives easy 2 question quizzes every other class and tries to get to know each student pretty well.I definitely would recommend him to anyone

Professor Lahoud treats every class like it is review. He will skip steps because "you should already know them." If you need to be taught Calculus or haven't been in math in a couple of years. Do not take Lahoud.

I took his course in summer 2015 and he was honestly an amazing professor. He really explained everything well. If you do the homework and extra problems, the exam will be a piece of cake. I got a 60 on the first exam, but I kept practicing and eventually ended up with an A+. If you put the work in, you'll be fine.

Great guy. After taking this professor for calculus I, I found that he had prepared me very well for subsequent math courses. I would recommend. Just do a few practice problems before class and quizzes are a breeze. If you can handle quizzes then exams are cake. Overall, he keeps you on your toes, if his quizzes don't get you, his sharp wit will

He explains calculus as if it's a review. He means well but he goes to fast and before you can ask a question you're on to the next section. Also pop quizzes are usually only 1-3 questions once or twice a week. If that's you're learning style than take him. If not you will fail miserably. Great guy though. Just not my style.

Good guy all around but I flipped one exam when I came down with a nasty virus, Ended with a 69. Tried everything in the world to get that one point but there's a little bit of heart missing from this guy. Not bad, just try hard and don't need that extra point ;

Great person and great professor. A bit intimidating if you aren't somewhat adept at mathematics though, he definitely expects a certain standard of academic aptitude (rightfully so). Talks a bit fast and expects you to know the simple stuff, but he is very good about emphasizing the important concepts to pay attention to. A very skilled professor.

Professor Lahoud is a good professor, but at the same time he teaches the material way too fast and gives two pop quizzes a week. My advice is to keep up with the homework and notes after every class. Also, the tests are generally easier than the quizzes.

Goes through content very quickly. Be prepared for quizzes every class, because they can really help you for future tests. He is a hard professor, but definitely knows what he is talking about. Never hesitate to ask questions because he is always more than happy to help. He makes himself very available outside of class as well.
