Comment:
Mr. Ludes did not grade assignments regularly, and I didnt know what my true grade was in the class until one week after finals. The gradebook wasnt updated, and very little attention was paid to students. I wouldnt recommend this professor. It was really frustrating to take his class, and the lack of care in grading is ridiculous.

I thought professor Ludes was great! There were 3 weekly discussions, a weekly quiz, final & a 5 page essay (summer class). The work is tough, yes, but not impossible as compared other PHIL professors. Responded back to emails the same day & does help you succeed if you reach out. His class was thought-provoking & informative. Would take him again!

Absolutely the worst professor you could ever take. He never responds to emails when I have sent multiple emails a week prior to when something was due & the content is hard with no lectures, power points or nothing. You have to rely off of 3 books. Quizzes/midterm are vague and hard, discussion posts are dreadful. I wish I had different professor.

Do not take this class unless you are ready to dedicate a great amount of time to it. Discussions are dreadful, the weekly quiz questions are very vauge and he is impossible to get in contact with.

This online class was so difficult, stressful, and not structured well for a 101 class. There are no lectures, you only depend on the book. He barely gives any feedback and does not teach any material. There are no powerpoints, class notes, etc. You are responsible for learning on your own based on your book and whatever outside research you do.

The class was intimidating at the begging but, after few weeks, got easier and felt more confident to voice out my opinion on the class discussions. My favorite part was the flexible schedule to complete the assignments, second, web posting, third the integration of 3 books & pod cast as a learning tool. If you like to learn? take this class.

Gives weekly 10 point T/F quizzes. 2 weekly discussion posts, a midterm, final, and an 8-10 page essay. Straightforward.

Too many discussions and he doesn't even grade them all. Really tough grader, takes points off for anything. Boring class, didn't learn much.

Worst professor so far for an online class. 6 discussion posts per week. Weekly quizzes. Buyrentborrow the 3 textbooks! You are going to need it. Way too much work for a 101 class. He does not interact with his students at all. Critical analysis essay.

28 discussion posts, 56 responses, 13 quizzes, one 5 page paper due at the end, midterm, final, multiple readings and videos and podcasts. Overall not a bad class. Be prepared to work for your grade, you cannot just coast all semester.

28 discussion posts, 56 responses, 13 quizzes, one paper, midterm, final, multiple readings and videos and podcasts, yet the teacher hardly ever interacts with students. Take notes on the readings and do supplemental research to do well. This feels like a class geared towards UD philosophy majors... not 101 students that are required to take it.

So much homework and reading. In my opinion, it is far too much for an online class, and a 101 at that. I have taken my fair share of online classes and some upper division and have had not had to do 28 discussions, 56 responses, 12 quizzes, a midterm, a final, and a paper on top of weekly reading & podcasts from 3 books.

This class is set up terribly, the schedule is confusing and there are multiple times per week that assignments are due. It took me almost the entire semester to get used to the schedule. There are a lot of discussions and responses and the quizzes aren't too bad. Reading the book and listening to all podcasts really helps with the quiz questions.

Terrible professor! I took his phil 101 online class over the summer and it was awful. His quiz and final questions are so vague that the answer could go either way-- yet he picks only one way so you get them wrong. He doesn't post lectures and doesn't give any sort of feedback. Avoid this professor if you can.

I can't really complain because it's exactly what an online class should be. Just read the book, post, and answer quizzes. Some of the answers are unfairly vague. The professor isn't very reliable so you're on your own, but again that's pretty much what it should be.

Took as an online class! He answered all emails in with a good turnaround time. He only grades posts 2 times during the semester and did not put the grades up for the one assignment/discussions until last week. Quiz questions are very vague, worked my butt off to receive an A-, but took over summer. Good Luck!

Online Class. He was rarely available, never interacted with the class and was basically an absentee professor this whole semester. If you want to have a real dialogue with your teacher/classmates take someone else.

I had to take this class online and at first I was a little nervous but the class is actually really good. As long as you keep up with the discussion posts, readings and understand concepts you should be fine. Every time I sent an e-mail asking a question he responded rather quickly and helped me out. Quiz questions could be a little vague.
