Great teacher, and a really funny guy. Unfortunately, he retired last semester and will no longer be teaching Quantitative Analysis.

Dr. Lynch is one of my favorite chemistry teachers I've had!!! He is very enthusiastic in lecture which keep you engaged and he is funny. If you go to his office to ask questions he is very friendly and explains well. He gives a lot of practice problems and provides the worked out answers so if you study those you'll be fine.

Basically a teach yourself class. Rambles off subject & makes mistakes working problems on the board leaving the entire class confused. Group problems are a waste of time if Lynch never taught us how to solve them. Went to office hours about a homework problem & Lynch gave the wrong solution. Something doesn't add up.

Lynch is one of those teachers that tries to be funny only to end up with a class full of blank stares. He easily gets sidetracked and only about 5 minutes of his lecture is on stuff you need to know for the test. When you ask for help he dances around the answer and leaves you more confused than before. Get ready to teach yourself.

Dr. Lynch is great, he's really funny, and if you need help on homework or whatever he goes through it step by step with you. I had him for quant, and his lectures sometimes felt more like a stand-up comedy routine, but it was 80% review from GenChem 2.

The key to doing well on his exams is working his group problem sets. He posts the solutions on Blackboard, so take advantage of the resources he gives you! Plus, don't blame him for your grade in the class because if you "listen to the numbers," you will find a pattern to his problems. He's a chatterbox, so be prepared to hear him ramble on.

He's a big proponent of in-class participation through group work. A great guy to come and ask for help from. He puts up solutions to the work in class and is timely on grading. Coming to class is key. Very happy to help, and enjoys teaching his subject. Good but tough on grading tests. Make sure to review all solutions of homework.

Lynch is out there. He is a really nice person, and listening to him in class is fun, but he is extremely hard to understand. He always gets off subject and jumps around and it gets very confusing. He gives partial credit on tests, but not much- even if you're "really close". Bottom line: Nice guy, not so great teacher. I do not recommend him.

Dr. Lynch is a little bit eccentric, and that can be very distracting, but once you warm up to his humor he actually knows the subject very well and is helpful when you need assistance. However, he does not like being played, and is the type to make you think, rather than let you not try at all and give you answers.

He talks about everything in the world except the things needed to be known in order to do exceptionally well on his tests. This class is so uninformative and you will not learn a lot (at least not from him anyways) about chemistry or the problems that are associated with the subject. He is extremely sketchy when going to his office.

Don't buy the book. Don't think I ever used it. Do the practice tests and you'll be fine. As far as the lab is concerned, it isn't as wretched as I expected. You're allowed to work at your own pace, so there's no stressful due dates and no lab reports. As far as Lynch is concerned, I found him entertaining and effective as a professor.

He honestly isnt that hard. Quant isnt that bad either. My favorite Chem class so far. I had a lot of fun actually working with chemicals! And you go at your own pace in the lab, and choose which lab you want to do first. I slept through the lecture, and made an A easy. just learn how he teaches and i can guarantee you will get an A

Dr. Lynch is hilarious. His sense of humor made class very interesting and definitely worth attending. You need a prof. like this every now and then to keep you from going insane. Do the practice problems if you want a good grade! His tests are straight forward and to the point. I made an A, but I studied enough that I know I earned it.

The class is easy but can be confusing and easy to mess up a problem on. The lab is hard but it is not that hard to get a good grade. It's hard to sum up the two; Lynch is a genius but he is not the greatest specimen for teaching, however he will teach what you need in order to pass the class. For the lab just be careful and READ the lab ahead

HORRIBLE teacher! His "teaching" consists of making you print of slide shows, and reading them in class. Every now and then he'd work an example problem. No matter how much I studied, I couldn't pass a test. He had to severely curve the final grades for anyone to pass in my class. DON'T take him unless you have to!
