I recently graduated CSE with a BA in English & Art. Besides Prof. Kingston and two other Professor's in the English Dpt., I enjoyed Dr. Marlin's classes. I remember the first class I had with him -rocky, but from there, it was truly a pleasure. Learned so much! His Journalism class helped me out the most-Understanding the art of tech. writing.

I graduated over 10 years ago. I still look back and remember Dr. Marlin's classes very fondly. No, they weren't easy. Should they be? If you are a lover of classic English literature and a bit of dry wit, you will be just fine.

He is not easy on students or a pushover, but you if you are willing to work with him he will teach you a lot. I did use sparknotes a lot in Critical Reading, but I didn't completely neglect to read the book either. He does have compassion for his students

Not a god, just a man. A very brilliant man yes, but to say he is too smart to teach at CSE raises him to godlike status and insults the college. It's not a bad school--and we need more faculty like Dr. Marlin to further demonstrate that.
