Professor Metzler is a great guy and you can tell he is truly passionate about the subject. He reads off the textbook word for word the entire class, so don't bother reading. Yeah it's a little boring, but bring work to do and you're fine. Midterm, Book Report, Research Paper, and a Final. Easy grader and really cares for his students. Easy A!

Great professor very passionate about the material. However he relies on the book.....a lot! In class, he will literally read the book, meaning if u did the readings like u was suppose to class is just a review. Not a lot of hw just be ready to write like most gov classes there is a paper and the midterm and final is all essays.

Very enthusiastic about what he teaches. Only the Midterm and the Final. There are three books you have to read for the class. 2 of them are the assigned textbooks 2 Papers, one a book report on a book of your choice, the other is a Term Paper. Good Teacher Overall, Will definitely take again!

He's boring! I personally think he likes to hear himself talk. He gets so excited about the topic, that he rambles on and forgets to actually teach. Doesn't give notes, 1 paper, Midterm, Final. Don't expect to get much out of his class, so read the books. He assigned a book that he wrote, and it was kinda pricy. Nice guy, but ehh. I'd avoid.

He reads out of the textbook, which is kind of boring. That being said, he is interested, and extremely enthusiastic in the topic he teaches. If you have a question, he will answer it in depth.There is a midterm, final, term paper and a book report. All of which requires a good bit of writing, but nothing too difficult. Metzler is great. I love how enthusiastic he is about his lecture topics. He usually reads the important sections from the books and elaborate on them (as well as clarify the meanings.) He's always willing to tie in present-issues in his course. Easy A as long as you pay attention and turn in the papers. I'll surely take his other classes.

metzler is so cool and relaxed. i love him, all you have to do is act interested and he'll be the happiest man on earth. he truly listens to you when you speak and remembers things that you would expect a professor to just blow off. sure his class is pretty boring cause he reads straight from the textbook but all you have to do is listen for an A

He reads directly from the textbook most of the class and has a tendency to go off on tangents but he's hilarious & a nice guy. Book report, Research Paper, midterm, and Final, but he's a pretty easy grader. Bring the book to class, and just listen to him talk and you'll do well. Very helpful!

Metzler is the man. Very knowledgable in his field. The course is a midterm, final, and term paper. He grades leniently and is willing to help every step of the way in any way that he can. Genuinely cares about his students and is an all around nice guy. I would definitely recommend taking him to anyone. Class can be boring,but it's an easy A.

i've had him for 5 classes so far and i'd continue take him until all my asian studies requirements are fulfilled. easy grader and very caring. classes are boring but attendance is not mandatory. long term papers but he grades very leniently. midterm & finals are long but as long as you read or is capable of bs-ing you won't have problems getting A

the grade is based on a midterm & a 15pg term paper (25% each) the final (40%) and class participation (10%). as long as you speaks english or good at BS-ing like every single college student should be then you won't have problems getting A. He is very lenient and helpful.
