Comment:
Munson didn't teach us anything important or relevant. Didn't seem he knows anything. Still in ancient computer world. Instead of keeping uptodate with new material, prefers bashing them (C++, Java). Trivial and meaningless assignments and exams. He just talked about a silly calculator program every lect. Such courses and profs bring down enrollmen

If the CS department at UI really wants *this* to be the knowledge we walk away with, they shouldn't spend all that time teaching us C++ for the first year. No dynamic memory? No pointers? He really thinks we should go back to using the old version of FORTRAN! He's also the only instructor for Software Eng I & II, so I get him for one more year.

This guy is crazy. He should not be teaching. He seriously believes that computer science has gone only downhill since the 1960s. The only thing he teaches is about the "good old days" of UNIVAC computers.

He was hardly in the class. His grad student taught the class most of the time.

Teaches good information if you are one of the <1% of CS majors writing space shuttle software. Worst instructor I've ever had at explaining things. Impossible to do a good job in his class (and I got one of the highest grades in the class).

Dr. Munson explores current topics of software engineering research in CS581; come with an open attitude and you'll learn something. This is definitely *not* an introductory software engineering course; take this class if you want to push the boundaries.
