Comment:

Professor Parmelee did the bare minimum in my opinion for this online class. It felt as though he was note even there. I have been taking online classes for the majority of college, and this is probably the worst experience I've had. He is not flexible at all, gives vague feedback when you ask questions, and posts no updates to the class.

His online class was great! One discussion post + two replies each week. Thats it! A midterm and final exam also. For each lesson he posts narrated power points (WATCH THEM!) and notes you fill out. Wont really read ur book if you do that. Tough grader at start, but loosened up. Very nice, extended deadlines & offered make up (for 1/2 credit)at end

Would not recommend him, extremely tough grader. I took his online class, thought it was going to be a breeze since 70% of your grade is discussion board posts, unfortunately he is very nit-picky and you will feel that you didn't get the grade you deserve- a lot. Other than that an interesting class and well constructed.

I took his Media Theories class. I don't recommend it. He grades quite harshly and his responses come across as harsh criticism. His tests were difficult. He only opens the test up at the end of the week on Friday and waits until the very last day to open the final exam which was very inconvenient.

He is an absolute nightmare. Completely rude and almost impossible to get an A. Take his media theories class online and he loves his job (he will make sure to tell you) but he grades extremely hard, responds with an attitude and the exams are very difficult. You have to do summaries every week about 2 pages plus discussion boards that are in depth

This prof should be teaching kindergarten. Class is mandatory and he repeats everything 3 or 4 times- so he talks to us like we're idiots AND is extremely boring. Definitely recommend taking a different prof!

Great Professor! I took him for Mass Comm Research. His lectures are a bit dry but he is very,very helpful when it comes to tests, quizzes and the term paper. He is very passionate about teaching and it shows.

Parmelee is fantastic. . Study the power points for the tests and you'll do fine. There is, however, a 20 PAGE research paper due at the end of the semester but he helps you form ideas and is REALLY helpful. Also, he's probably the nicest dressed professor I've ever had! :)

STAY AWAY!! Parmelee is one of the WORST prof's I've had at UNF. Only 4 grades for whole semester, 3 are exams!! DOESNT OFFER ANY EXTRA CREDIT SO DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ASKING. The MATERIAL isn't that hard of a concept if you pay attention, but the way he words the questions on tests is beyond anyones comprehension. You'll be lucky to pass with a C

He makes the subject somewhat interesting, and is very understanding and helpful, but the class is a snooze though. If you're a comm. major though it is a requirement so get over it.
