Laid-back but not a pushover. A picky grader who requires precision; better to lose bad habits now than have them multiply thru higher courses and into workforce. He gave us enough rope to hang ourselves with; some people took advantage, then complained about not enough direction when their slacking caught up. Submit college-level work and do fine.

Awesome guy!!! He is completely laid back. We never used the book but it doesn't mean that you won't. I aced this class all u need to do is rehearse your speech and include in your speech what he says to includeand it will be a breeze.

Very laid back, and cool guy. He points out a LOT of clear and helpful examples in our book bout every aspect of writing. If u suck at english and dont use them u can still pass, but he doesnt talk bout basics, so u wont learn anything and feel like it was a waste. But if use these resources, you can learn a lot easily. good intro to college writin

I definitely agree with the guy below me. His instructions leave something to be GREATLY desired, extremely vague in his explanations. If you ask to clarify, he will respond as if he explained it perfectly, unintentionally rude (in many aspects). Assignments are out of 10, you better write it the way HE would, or points off. Take him for easiness.

I dont know if i have had a more odd class than this one...he is very vague in teahcing, all assigments out of ten, and unless your perfect with your wording, you're going to get points off. Not really any tests, not really much homework, but it was just a really wierd, vague class. I dont recommend

You better write your assignments exactly as he would, or you'll be getting points off. Most assignments are out of 10 points, with 100 total in the class, so you end up losing 10-20% on an assignment just because you worded something a little differently.

Great guy that is more interested in your personal growth than anything else. He grades you on your improvement and is about the only teacher i know of that looks at each person as an individual in that aspect. And class is a blast. Doesn't mind a swear now and then, and holds a very relaxed classroom

I enjoyed the relaxed state of the class. The papers weren't rushed so I could actually take time to write something well. Took time to review our work and make corrections. We had quite a few chances to make revisions. Final was a reflective essay about your improvement as a writer. EASY!!

He is a good guy but he doesn't teach and doesn't grade anything. Only have to write 3 papers for the whole class and one of those is the final. You have WEEKS to write the other 2. He relies on peer review for people to improve their papers. 1/2 (if not more) of the classes are just peer review.

Interesting stories, he is the epitome of a hippie, just add some long hair and your off for a ride. Grading varies on your writing skill. Just keep up with the work and you will do fine, may not learn much though.

He is probably one of the most laid back teacher I have ever had. Thats is a very good thing. Grades easy, and is fun to be around. He has an original personality which is very refreshing. Don't go through MSOE without having experienced his teaching.
