Comment:

Pollock is rally nice and explains material well. Grades are based on 2 quizzes, 1 paper, the midterm, and the final so to get a good grade you have to do well on all and he grades the papers toughly. EVERYTHING you need to know is from the lectures so if you go and take notes you won't need to read, he summarizes everything anyway.

quite possibly the most endearing little man in the world. i was surprised at how well i did in this class--an easy grader, and a charming fellow.

Comment:

Good teacher who really knows how to explain his material. Also a wonderful advisor. He relies a lot on Jung and Freud when interpreting texts, which I wasn't a big fan of, but he had a lot of insightful things to say.

Comment:

Somewhat of a dry lecturer but is very knowledgable of the material but very passionate. The essay was very open-ended and there were only 3 tests. He's a fair grader and so achieving an A in his class isn't impossible. You can skip a number of his classes, read sparknotes, and still do well. Easy-going, laid back prof. Somewhat easy A/B.

Excellent lectures. I honestly hated it when his class came to an end. I could listen to him talk all day long. I loved learning about Canterbury Tales and Paradise Lost.
