Prof Rice was my professor 30 years ago. His machine design class carried me 30 years. Glade he is still well. Said to read these other comments. He was a soft-spoken gentleman then and now. Don't be so harsh. Thirty years ago other prof's were worse and you struggled to get a C. One senior who had a job waiting received an F and could not graduate

Poor guy's drycleaning bills must be high! Chalk all over himself! He's so old he stopped talking for a minute and I thought he died standing up! Doesn't collect homework. HUGE curve! I slept everyday and got a B+! I don't remember a single thing I learned, but my GPA is good! If you are a math whiz, you will LOVE this class! If not, get a tutor!

John Rice is a very nice, genuine person. Statics is a hard course and he knows and explains the material well. There are no bells and whistles here. He is straight forward and fair. Either you study and understand the material or you dont.
