Comment:

Foundations of Design-Professor Roberts was one of my favorite art teachers at Keene. He is so kind and helpful because he is so passionate about art. The projects in this class were actually really interesting and fun. I was scared at first that I wouldn't be able to do half the projects, but I loved them. TAKE THIS art class with him.

I had John Roberts as a print prof. in 2009-2010,one of the best print prof. I have ever had. I now attend CCA in SF, and I still feel as though he has been one of the most influential teachers I have ever had.Not an easy A in art.He will challenge you, if you care about your artwork,put in the time that printmaking requires, you will do fine.

I came to Keene from an art school in Massachusetts and I can categorically say that John Roberts is the worst professor I've ever had. Does not appreciate conceptual art. Does not understand art in America in the last 50-60 years. Tries to push his own ideas on your work. HORRIBLE.

He's very nice, just needs to clarify a bit on what he's looking for. There were definitely lots of us who came in frequently with the wrong idea, but it was somehow as though he expected that to happen. Regardless, he knows his stuff. Expect to work hard.

I've taken a few classes with Roberts and I have learned so much from him. I don't think he gets the respect he deserves from his students. He's a very knowledgable guy and very helpful. If you are lazy and expect and easy A, I wouldn't recomend his class. If you enjoy art and a little hard work, it will pay off.

an amazing teacher! he is able to use his experience in fine arts to help you discover your own style. He does push you, but it only improves your final work. I loved his classes!

Roberts is only interested in pushing his ideas and content into YOUR artwork. He's closed minded to ideas that do not coinside with his own, very difficult to represent your own work and be an individual in a class. Does not think graphic design is art. Complete Jerk!

As a teacher, he does not stand up to the criteria of a department chair. Nothing can be done to please him, he seems too caught up with his few Fine Arts Students to give time to those taking requirement. VERY VERY VERY BIASED TOWARDS GRAPHIC DESIGNERS

He's very tough and demanding with your artwork. It seems no matter what you do, you can't seem to please him. Unless you are an abstract artist, beware of his classes.
