Comment:

John Rosson is The Dude (Lebowski). The everyday denim, prelecture standing micronaps, and friendliness are amusing. His ponytail has seen more winters than you or I. He is very friendly and intelligent. His lectures can be confusing, but not always. If you do the homework there shouldn't be a reason for failing the class. I approve! Take him!

Easiest class I've ever taken. I'm horrible at math and this was a breeze for me. Tests are basically the quizzes just different numbers and reworded. Nice guy. Pretty funny too.

Denim outfit every single day no joke is hilarious... Very very difficult class he just does problems to himself on the board really doesnt teach. I dont know what people are talking about with a cheat sheet i never got such thing =[ so maybe he stopped doing this i dont know but i never got to use one...

Rosson is a very knowledgeable professor. He explains the ways to do problems very well. he is an easy grader, but there is a lot of work in this class. expect to do at least 3 hours a night on the hawkes learning system. overall good guy and professor. good course to take

Nice guy, does his best to have a sense of humor. If you come to class, take notes, and do the homework you should get an A. There is nothing on the test that isn't on the homework. So do the homework! (Also, it's much harder to learn from the book, so go to class.) Homework was from program from the book; large part of your grade.

For those of you who are complaing about his 100 level class with a cheat sheet-you must be absolutey terrible at math. I was in his calc class and DID NOT get a cheat sheet. Yea there is a lot of work, but it pays off. I hope you people who had a tough time in his 100 class -you might want to reconsider your college career

Extremely detailed and clear lectures. Awkward, but nice sense of humor. The textbook is only used for homework, which is not collected/graded, so avoid buying it. Allows us to use "cheat sheets" on every quiz/exam. Even though I hate math, I had a lovely time in this class.

Extremely good with help. Lectures are clear and posted online in case you missed them. You're allowed a one page cheat sheet on every quiz/exam... even the final. His denim outfits, long pony tail, and boots make me laugh. Gives good examples, answers questions, and is very easy going. Great for people who think Math is usually painful.

Dr. Rosson might be one of the easier math profs at MU. He uses a different type of grading scale which ends up working in your favor. I did not learn much from his lectures-if I didn't have to go to class I wouldn't because he only confused me. My boyfriend was the one who really got me through it. It was A LOT of work, so be prepared!

Like the others have said, he's a nice guy but his class sucks. It's imaginary math and makes no sense: just read the book. I wish I had taken Algebra instead of this stuff. Though you are allowed a cheat sheet for everything, if you don't get it you never will. Hard course.

If I could go back and choose to not take this class I would. I actually went to his office hours once when confused and he showed me a sample problem. The next day in class he showed us the problem, and he had showed me how to do it wrong. Plus, he's extremely confusing/boring in class. Don't take it!

You will learn everything you need to know for this class by doing the homework in the text book. Seriously! It would be in your best interest to zone him out (which is not difficult) during the class, because he will probably just confuse you!
