Father Sawicki is by far one of the best professors I have ever had. He truly wants to see students succeed, as long as you put in the work. As long as you put forth effort he will notice it and reward you. Take advantage of all bonus opportunities and you will do fine in his class. He curves some exams and the supremacy exercise is really fun!

I took him last semester for War and Peace in the Nuclear Age, and I miss that class every day. Yes, a good majority of his class time is lecturing/PPTs, but he is such an engaging individual that I didn't find myself spacing out once. Very intelligent and commands the attention of the class. TAKE HIM! Best decision you could make.

At first he was very intimidating and it was a very hard class, but halfway through the semester I realized that I love him! There's a lot of reading but he is a great professor and I'm taking him again! I definitely suggest taking him sometime, but don't get overwhelmed by him! He inspired me to change my minor to political science

Most influential person in my life. His ability to teach inspired me to become a teacher myself. He presided over my wedding and even emails me on my anniversary. Expects a lot from his students, but the work is rewarding.

Father Sawicki, is probably the most brilliant professor you will have at Duquesne. He is Amazing!! I recieved a b+ and an A- in both of those classes and believe me you will work hard in those classes but its WORTH IT!!!! You learn so much. Very nice guy to talk to, will help you with any trouble or problems you may be having. LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!

Fr. Sawicki is one of the best teachers at this school. Highly intelligent. tests and pace very challenging BUT gives outlines to all notes and has review sessions. GO TO EXTRA-CREDIT MOVIES- easy points. And at least get familiar with every reading- they'll be on quizzes and tests. Highly recommend if you don't mind the work and want to learn.

Father Sawicki is one of the nicest teachers.if you just pay attention to his lectures and take really good notes you will do fine on the tests and quizes. Make sure you come to class though because he gives out pop quizzes when too many people are missing. Definitely makes the material really interesting and sometimes brings donuts for the class!!

He is such a good teacher and sooo smart! Uses good examples to keep his lectures interesting and you get the sense that he really knows what he's talking about. Plus he makes outlines for his lectures which are really helpful. The class is challenging but definetly not impossible and well worth it.

Father Sawicki is the best teacher I have ever had at Duquesne University. He is brilliant! I consider him a mentor and a leading source on foreign relations and terrorism.
