I graduated 7 years ago & I'm still coming back to tell people u would be foolish not to take him as ur teacher. He's laid back & easy going. He has the right views. Politics and the Government suck. Oh and BTW, still paying off Hofstra debt. You're probably wasting your money unless you want to be a doctor or lawyer. Go to trait school!

im a history major, this was my junior year seminar class.15-20 page paper due at the end of the semester. no attendance, nothing learned in class, no book. all independent research. we watched movies and talked about things totally unrelated to the class. i never went.

Prof only gets a good rating because he doesnt take attendance and lazy kids like not coming to class. He teaches virtually nothing you can use to write 2 graded assignments during the semester. This coming from a history major and huge fanatic of the ancient world. Ruined what should have been an amazing class.

This professor is amazing ! Easiest class ever! I have history and I breezed through this class ! If you hate history he is a good professor to take because it isn't all memorizing bs its just 2 papers and thats it.. he also plays some good movies! Def would recommend if you dislike history!

Halfway into the semester and we have yet to have a graded assignment. We've watched a couple movies,and he has taught at us. Assumes we should have some prior knowledge that we don't. This professor knows a lot about a lot, but that might be the problem. I signed up for a Roman history class and ended up discussing current events. All fine and dandy, but if I wanted a current events class, that is what I would have taken. He says all the history we get will be from the books, great dude if I wasn't paying $40,000 to go here!

Went through tough personal events during this semester. Easiest class ever- no need to attend, just write the papers. We watched three movies. I can honestly say I did not learn ONE thing. I felt bad for him but that is all that he talked about in class. Nice man, but if you want to get ANYTHING out of a class this wouldnt be good. Easy A

Professor Walsh is unlike any professor Ive ever had in college. Gives only 2 5pg papers. Attendance and participation don't matter. Professor Walsh has much to say and is an extremely knowledgeable man. He goes off-topic all the time, but is always interesting. Overall, I had no problems with this professor and encourage everyone to take him!

Not that helpful as a professor. He will make you write 2 short papers...but besides that he is inefficient for truly learning how to express rhetoric properly. furthermore be aware that he can be cocky in his conservative views and shuts anyone else down during debates regarding politics and or current events. On the whole...not reccomendable

Took him for Western Civ. One of the best classes ever. The whole grade was based on 2 papers, so if you're not retarded, you can easily get a B or higher in this class. Talks about current events, something that actually means something to us. Hates Thanksgiving and gave us a great speech on it. And we watched 24 for the last week of class.

The best professor I have ever had in college. Totally tells everything like it is. Really made me feel better at hofstra since he also could not stand that a lot of the people in charge there act so superior (Can I help you?) lol. Just about the only Prof who you can talk to as u would with a student. You can say whatever u want in class.

The best prof ever... Most fun class I have ever taken at Hofstra. Bring a newspaper with you. You can read it during class and he won't care. This class was like a study hall, only you actually learn stuff by writing the essays and its sooooo fun....You will regret not taking a class w/ him. seriously.

OMG this is the best prof. ever! Idiots dont like him cuz they dont know how to write an essay. You shouldnt have any problems if you passed english in 10th grade. Just finished taking him for the 2nd time around. He is def the best prof. I have ever had at hofstra. Quite possibly the only thing Hofstra ever did right was to hire this guy. You learn quite a bit with the papers you write AND they are fun. Very interesting papers! Im not a history major and have always hated history btw. Take him for any class!

This guy might be the best professor ever. He's a Libertarian, but for all intensive purposes, Conservative, and it's great listening to him rip whiny liberal theories to pieces. Extremely intelligent, hysterically funny, if you can't get a decent grade on his papers, you should go back to high school. I just wish I had found him 3 1/2 years ago!
