Dr. Ward was the BEST Shakespeare professor I've ever had. He is grizzly around the edges, but that's what makes him a fantastic teacher. He doesn't take crap. Do your work and participate, and I guarantee you will become a better writer and a more knowledgeable human being. I wish more teachers held us to that high of a standard!

I've had Dr. Ward as an adviser as well as a professor. He is difficult and can have surprise quizzes. If you participate and are active in the discussion the class goes by much faster and can be enjoyable. Always try to read a little ahead of the assignments he posts.

Yes, he can be boring. Yes, if you disrespect him by goofing off or not doing the work... he will embarrass you. yes, he has his favorites, but it's not hard to be one of them. raise your hand and prove you did your work and you'll be fine. my writing improved 10x after his class. go to class, pay attention, participate, and you'll do fine.

well lets see he is a wee bit on the boring side, He rambles on and on, He gives you nice feed back on what you can do to improve your paper but he dosent really go thorugh with it. He gives lots of quizes and he just plain scared me. I dont suggest you take him unless your a GREAT writer.

He rambles, grading takes forever(as does every single class), and spawns disinterest like a plague throughout the class. Ward is easily in my top 5 "Teachers to avoid" at WCU.

Took him for CLS 260 and 261. It's not the worst class ever, but you must work. It is important to read before class, he will jump on you if he feels you haven't. Also, your papers have got to be on point, and missing class is not an option.

Decent teacher. He is very boring though. He will take a sentence and go on for about ten minutes trying to be as politically correct as possible and it is for the most part completely unnesessary. The class is still okay though, I don't know if I could handle another semester with him though.

If u are a decent writer you'll do fine in this class. But make sure u do the readings and participate in discussions! The quizzes are, for the most part, very easy and u don't even have to answer all the questions. He is a tough grader with the papers, so like I said, as long as ur a decent writer I'd recommend the class. He's a very smart man.

Dr. Ward is cool. He can be a little tough sometimes, but it is just to idiot people who don't really know anything but talk all the time. He is definitely interested in helping you if you need it. I really like him.

If you have insomnia come to this class, you will fall asleep right away. He is really boring and turns a simple sentence into a hour explanation of the sentence. All I want to do during class is tell him that "No One Cares!" He takes his gen. ed. class very seriously. He is very critical of papers, but he doesn't teach you to write any better.

He is a good professor. I did not have any problems with him. Make sure you go to the writing center and you will do fine. I remeber when this previous student fell asleep in class but the student failed to mention how they laughed at Professor Ward when he yelled at them. I would get angry to if a student laughed at me for doing my job.

Soo boring. Unfortunately I WAS one of his favorites and he never ever left me alone. Rambled on about nothing all class. If he likes your paper, he makes you read it out loud. Calls on you even if you have no opinion. Grades are questionable, I got a B++ on a paper. A nice man, but very old, very boring, and very opinionated. Needs to retire

Read whatever he assigns(which is not a whole lot at once) and participate in class and you're golden. All he wants is class discussion, and since this IS college that isn't much to ask for. You even get to pick the topics! Quizzes are short but easy if you just read. NO MIDTERM!!!

He is a very mean professor. You cannot state your own opinions because he will shoot you down and pretty much call you an idiot. All you have to do it read the books VERY well, come to class and answer his dumb questions. The papers are impossible. He is a VERY critical grader and very tough.

The way he has to say everything perfectly is how he grades your paper which sucks. Had fun in his class except when he yelled at me when I fell asleep cause I was f-ing tired and gave me a lecture about how he takes his job seriously which I didn't think he did. talks about sex all the time. He talks too much. (Can be Fun hard to get good Grade)

Look, do your reading (don't skim!), go to class, participate, and proofread. This is not a professor for slackers, but for those people who want a REAL education, I highly recommend him. He really knows his stuff, and he encourages great class discussions. One of my favorite professors ever!

This teacher loves to hear himself talk. Make sure he doesn't know your name if he does he will call on you everyday. He only calls on students who he knows by name. Quizes are easy if you read material and review material. Also romance is his favorite class topic.
