Dr. Young is a great professor, and I wish I had taken more time to do the work for his class. He's very respectable, smart, and funny! I also took his ENG 355 course this semester, and I don't have any complaints there either. The books that he assigned for both classes were great!! He emails back immediately (even if its past midnight). Take him!

Dr. Young is a very understanding professor who encourages his students to ask questions if they are at all confused. Although his lectures can be a little bit dry, the class overall was fairly easy and required some time and effort but not too much. Pretty good class.

Prof. Young is one of the smartest professors around. Some of the material is hard but that's just how theory works. If you work hard and communicate with Young you'll do fine! Don't hesitate to email him with questions or drafts! He's got your back!

Dr. Young is very unorganized and unclear about certain assignments. You're often expected to read a novel within a week because he doesn't post the assignments for the week until Tuesday or Wednesday normally. The entire first week of the semester wasn't posted until the second week. The course felt very rushed and unorganized for my liking.

Dr. Young (John Lennon) is a very intelligent professor. I would also argue that he is hilarious, but it may take you a couple weeks to really get a sense of his wit. He is also one of the kindest professors I have ever had. He is very passionate about English and his dedication to it makes you respect him and learn from him.

Dr. Young looks like John Lennon. He really knows his stuff in African American Lit. If you're an English major, try not to take the class with a majority of non-English majors. If you go to him, he'll help you out. I would definitely take him again.

Terrible class! It took forever for him to email back and when he did the responses were useless. Marshall had just changed Blackboard formats and a lot of the issues he said were Blackboard (maybe they were). He changed the grading at the END of the course, but thank the Lord I still got an A. He seems like a nice guy, but online isn't for him.

First of all,First Year Seminar is a pointless class, but he did his best. Dr. Young might not be the most interesting professor, and he talk quite fast and quiet, but he is really nice, relaxed, and none of his quizzes are diffucult. All in all, FYS was boring, but he is pretty good.

Ok first, UNI is POINTLESS and OUTLIERS IS THE WORST BOOK EVER!!!! Ok so everybody hates UNI, but it's even worse with Professor Young. He babbles all the time and sometimes you can't understand him. He also makes you read the New York Times and BUY A SUBSCRIPTION!!!! I wasted $35 because of him. He is terrible!

I actually had him for the online class. He did not do his job on the online class. He did not graded all papers the last week of class. Nothing was very organized and he did not really let the students know what he expected from you. He also did not respond to emails. I did get a B in this class but I still feel like I should have had an A!

Intelligent, funny, a Red Sox fan, and looks like John Lennon. What's not to love? Dr. Young is an awesome professor, explains assignments well and really gets you to think deeply about literature. Anyone who has a chance to take him definitely should.
