He's a very smart man, but the subject matter is very difficult to grasp, especially in a lecture hall situation. He's very understanding with assignments and gives "unlimited" extra credit.

Dr. Linn has a really bad rep because of the subject matter he teaches. Yes, the class is hard to understand, however, there is a huge curve. It was a lot of work (for both classes), but he will always work with you on due dates and realizes that his subject is difficult to grasp. At the end of the day, I'm glad I had Macro and Micro with Dr. Linn.

Don't buy the textbook! Waste of your money. EVerything he lectures about is online on his "website" he shows first day. Make sure you do the online assignments, those keep your grade up. He curves the test grades, curves the online, then curves the curve. If you average is a 50 you pass with an A after all the curves. Also looks like Santa Clause

Probably the smartest person you'll ever meet. He has a Masters from MIT which is extremely impressive. The best part of the class was the online experiments. I didn't really understand the course material but still got an A. Very nice guy, well rounded individual. He'll do just about anything to help a student out with a deadline or extra credit.

A good Teacher. Kind and Helpful. Basis for testing is not so great, if you get a good grade before the curve there is no incentive to keep studying.

THis class is extremely difficult. I studied my absolute hardest and still nearly faild every one of his tests. I made straight A's and B's on my other classes and made D's and F's in this one. I would not recommend taking this class in a freshamn because it could make you really discouraged about college.

He is nice but his class is extremely difficult. It doesnt matter how much you study. If you dont understand economics you will not understand the reading. The summery and the end of every chapter is helpfull though. The aplia assignments are tricky. BE CAREFUL on them once you mess you grade up it is hard is heck to bring back up.

Easy class. Take notes, share a book with a friend (its expensive), and do the online assignments. The class is full of theories that unfortunately arent interesting, but Linn does his best with the occassional corny joke.

If you show up to class, listen, read, study and do all homework there is no reason you won't pass. He knows his stuff and will help you if you ask. Most mind-numming idiots hate his class because there is no getting away from work and study here. If your willing to study its a good class. good teacher.

I never had an interest in econ, and still dont. He's a nice man but is too smart for his own good. He talks way above everyone's head. But its easy to pass, maybe not with an A, but the test curves help a lot! If you have to take Econ 201 or 202 he's pretty much your only option. Do the online assignments and show up for tests.

Don't go to class. Just show up for the tests. The curve will help you out. Don't worry about it. Schedule this class at the beginning or the end of your day, because you never EVER have to go to it. It's a joke.

I think people make his classes harder than they need to be. He teaches almost directly from his booklets and the test curve is designed so that a few people can't screw it up for everyone else.

Tests are a killer, definitly need to study for this class a lot. There are questions in the chapters, those are similar to his test questions. His handwriting is a bit hard to understand, so make sure you're listening otherwise you'll sit there and try to decipher the words. If you're having trouble in the class, don't hesitate to ask for help. =)
