Stadler is by far the best math teacher I have ever had. Extremely knowledgeable, and great at explaining hard concepts. Love this guy. If you think he is bad, then you're bad and you should feel bad - do your homework.

He knows what he is talking about but its hard for him to relay it to students. I wish he would give the students a chance in class to work the problems out. Instead, he just zooms through problems and leaves you wondering what just happened. Takes off more points than most for minor mistakes. Lots of material on each test. No cumulative final.

My discrete math class was challenging in a good way. I learned a great deal from Dr. Stadler and would recommend him to anyone. He is very willing to go over any questions you have and is very approachable. He also does fun magic tricks and jokes to keep the class interesting. He gives generous partial credit on exam questions.

I took this course over the summer. I found Professor Stadler to be very helpful when I asked questions during his office hours. He gives a bonus question on each of his exams, so there is some area for extra credit. Expect to do homework every night.

I have enjoyed having Dr. Stadler for calculus and for mathematical proofs. He teaches with great enthusiasm and is very willing to help. His only issue is that the classes he teaches are higher learning and difficult no matter who teaches. I will take him again any time I get the chance.

Have been at Capital for 7 semesters and this was the worst class I have ever taken from high school to college. He is very very smart but doesn't know how to teach the material. Homework is consistently 1-3 hours long and is irrelevant to the test material. Time limits leave half the class with unfinished tests. Don't take this classprofessor.

Comment:

Stadler is a super-nice guy teaching a hard class. He's very intelligent, and has a cool sense of humor (although no one in my class ever laughed because it was 8:00 in the morining.) Just make sure to pay close attention and ask questions, because his tests are harder than his homework. The homework can occasionally take 3 hours per assignment.

Great teacher and he loves his job. However, the tests were what hurt my grade the most. Really look over your homework, get help from CELT, ask questions and attend class. You will not succeed in one of his classes if you don't try to your fullest potential.

he is funny and a good teacher. i think it is just a difficult class, quantitative reasoning. i dinnt like it much, but i cant think of much that he could have done to spice it up or make it better. it could have been a lot worse though, at least he is good at explaining and is patient.

Great teacher! Really helped me understand calc. He gives partial credit on tests and is an easy grader. All of his notes correspond to the hw.
