This was easily the most boring class I've ever taken. I didn't go a decent amount because I was just fighting the heavy eyelids in this class. The quizzes and final are all online, and the paper he graded easily. This class is somewhat easy, but super boring. He's a nice guy, but sounds like a robot reading off the powerpoint (that are online)

I LOVE DR. G!!! He's one of the best profs at Loyola. His class is difficult though. You definitely have to work hard for your grade. If you're thinking of going to law school, he was great advice and he's a great prof overall. 10/10.

While the class itself is very challenging, Goldschmidt himself is amazing! He's full of stories and is good at explaining complex concepts. The quizzes are tough but not impossible, he drops your lowest quiz grade too. I'd take another class with Goldschmidt if I could

While the quizzes are online, they are very tough & specific. Sometimes he'll have 3 or 4 different concepts all within the same question. That said, he does drop the lowest quiz grade and allows you to try and argue points back in class. He's also hilarious when he starts telling stories. It's a tough class, but if you put in effort, its worth it.

Loved this class. It was super interesting and he was always there to answer any questions! The online class requires a lot of reading, and you have to watch several videos a week, but it's all interesting. Papers are all super easy A's, as long as you know the material.

He is a great professor! People complaining either didn't try or go to class. All of the quizzes are online and they are open note. No excuse to do bad in this class. I would definitely take him again.

Goldschmidt is a very wise man. He is very experienced in his field and the law. Was is a lawyer. His lectures can be very boring and bland. As long as you pay attention in class and have the book you will be alright. 7 quizzes online and lowest dropped, online final, and a paper that you will get a 100% if you follow his guidelines

Dr. G is one of my favorite professors ever. He is a really smart and cool guy. He is encouraging, super helpful, and easy to work with. He can come off a bit boring but that's only if you don't choose to put in your all and work hard. Take him for all course. You won't regret it. One of the best professors Loyola has to offer.

Goldschmidt is too strict in what he expects for an undergrad course. He gives quizzes based on his opinion, rather than the actual court opinion. He'll argue against any student and refuse room for discussion on the answers.

Comment:
Dr. Goldschmidt likes to just assign a reading every night and then go over it again in class. That's all. With the occasional 15 minute struggle for him to show us "a YouTube". He is not very interactive in class and brings zero excitement or passion for what he is teaching. The online quizzes frequently had incorrect answers that he did not fix.

Dr. G is awesome. A lot of students didn't like the class because it was taught like a law class. If you learn to apply the law to the question, the answer is clear. In law, it is possible that one answer is more right than the other. He has great stories and it would benefit you to participate and ask questions.

5 sakai quizzes and a final. Quizzes are tough and ambiguous unless you know the law inside and out. He can get monotone so you really need an interest in the material to pay attention. Gives opportunity to argue points back after each quiz. One easy research paper and offers half a letter grade in extra credit.

Dr. Goldschmidt is a great professor. Criminal Law is not the most exciting of subjects so lectures can definitely be dry but he is a good professor and knows the subject. Make sure to write down all the examples he uses in class, as these will often come up on the online, open note, quizzes. He is very open to giving extensions and clarification

He is a pretty good guy and isnt too boring, BUT his quizzes are god awful. Honestly I would rather retake calc another year than deal with how vague and tricky his questions are. Multiple answers essentially mean the same thing, one is arguably more right. It's based on what he thinks. Pray that you can somehow avoid him.

Hardest tests and quizzes ever. Every point counts, and the questions are very ambiguous and somewhat vague, and are often trick questions. They're all open book, but don't let that deceive you, these tests are ridiculously hard.

Jona is a nice guy, but Christ this class is tough, you HAVE to study as hard as you can if you want to do well within this course. Learning to apply the concepts is everything. Assignments aren't too tough but tests are hard! Quizzes are even more challenging, despite them being open book! Good luck if you're a CJC major you gotta take him!

I took a summer course with Goldschmidt so each class was about 3 hours long and he spent almost the entire time reading the textbook to the class. there are 5 tests worth 20 points so for each question you get wrong, you lose a percentage of your grade. Tests are also worded ambiguously.

Awesome person, not the best professor. His lectures are pretty basic, reviews what he asks you to read in the book. HE IS BORING, no visual aid, just reads from the book and talks MONOTONE. Interesting topic, boring lectures. Tests are super picky and tricky, not the best to ask for help. Ending up doing okay in the class but have to work for it.

Comment:
Dr. G is very knowledgeable and knows what he's talking about. However, his lectures can be dry and monotone. Also, he teaches like a law professor, so be prepared to put anywhere between a fair to an excruciating amount of work in for his class. An A is possible, but make SURE you keep up with the reading and study hard. Text book is crucial.
