Take advantage of extra credit! He is really helpful if you ask for help, clear about what to expect on exams. Information can be a bit overwhelming, but keep up & make sure you understand the material THAT DAY so you do not fall behind. You will do a lot of dissections & get to explore tactile learning in lab. You'll learn a lot with Dr. Akin!

Dr. Akin was very well informed about the subject he was teaching. He is clearly a brilliant mind. However, when I tried to approach him, he seemed uncomfortable with the social interaction. He told our class we were the reason he drank so heavily. He also claimed he was going to grade our tests by a certain date, and two weeks later, still nothing

I would recommend Dr. Akin. He is a nice guy. His test are usually full of charts and graphs from the powerpoints and the text. If you use the study guide and really study, you will do okay.

He makes a lot of effort to help you understand the topics in class, and he writes study guides for tests. The tests are multiple choice and short answer and are very easy. He used to drop the lowest test grade, but now he doubles the highest.

I've got him now....and his tests are hard if you don't study. But all his notes are online (power point) and he works with students to try and help you. He doesn't want students to fail or drop out, unlike some profs here.

Alright class...i took the night one. This guy is hilarious at times! Funny stuff with the rat anatomy (i.e. organs falling out). I recommend him for anything that has to do with biology/zoology!

Dr. Akin is a great teacher! He gives opportunities for bonus points and drops lowest test grade. I highly recommend him for anyone taking any of his classes.
