Great guy all around, Professor Stahl is always available to help you inside and outside the classroom. He wants you to pass more than you do, if you can believe it. He always brings opportunities to your attention, whether it be extra credit or a new internship. The work is fun and easy but makes you a better writer all the while.

He's truly amazing and it was a bit of shame that the class I had didn't really participate much because he truly deserved better than what we gave him. Easy, clear on assignments and will always help you.

Got a B+ when I was expecting an A, or at least an A-. Learned a couple things, but just a couple (about TV script format). There's also a lot of fluff. EASY, but grades you on stuff he doesn't teach (grammar, script format). Is hard on slang/regional dialects in scripts. I say it's creativity: See it! But I like Stahl. Now I outline 'cause of him.

BEST TEACHER EVER. I was not looking forward to taking a screenwriting class, but I would retake this course in a second. Honestly made me consider changing my major to screenwriting. ALWAYS willing to help. Very easy to access through email or office hours. Sincerely wants the best for his students. I <3 him. I hope he teaches more classes I need!

Great class. Im horrible with school and homework. This class was fun obviously im a CTVA major. I love writting my script and hes so helpful. Im retarded as it is and i got a B. I learned and would never mind retaking any of his classes. Remember im a horrible student and just the fact that i love a class means its not hard.

This class really isn't easy or hard. well, if you don't show up to class, it will be hard. It's once a week, get over it. He's a nice friendly guy, loves the sound of his voice & loves to use big words. Some movies were awesome while some were a drag. Offers extra credit, who doesn't love that? Tests are easy, just study. Overall, fun class.

Anyone who fails this class is a moron. If you attend and listen, you will pass easily. The exams were easy, and his sense of humor is great! His passion for films rubs off on everyone in the class.

Very boring. If your aren't interested in old films, don't take this class! However, I heard he was easier than other professor. He also gives extra credits.

Such a hard teacher. If you are not able to attend a class session, you're in trouble. There is no way you can make up watching the movie that WILL be on the test because you can't find these movies anywhere. If you THINK you are interested in movies and the aesthetics of them, taking the class would be a mistake. The tests are extremely difficult.

DO NOT take this class if you are not interested in film in every single way. I thought I was..I was wrong.I ended up hating it. The test are hard. Go to the study reviews, or else. If you arent into movies about dead moths crushed and put on film, dont take this class

I had Stahl for 210 and he is a great teacher but his grading is terrible. He says theres no such thing as perfection in human endeavor, yet uses that to grade harder. You'll never get a perfect score in his class. Maybe one person will get an A (I got an A-). His midterm's tricky and there's no EC. You'll learn a lot, but I wish he graded fairly.
