Comment:
Galindo is a nice, funny guy, but his teaching style is not the best. He is very disorganized during lectures. Jumps from one topic to another very quickly and expects students to understand it. Must show up to class because he doesn't put anything online, not even grades.

The class is really easy in the beginning especially if you've taken the first Spanish for heritage speakers . Its basically a repeat of Spanish 226. Pay close attention to presentation for culture, as it is the hardest part of exams. The second half of the class is more challenging just study! He's a really funny guy and very passionate.

I have been an A-B student my entire life. I graduated high school with an advanced honors degree, and received academic merit scholarships ALMOST my entire college career. This man gave my very first F. I am not a native Spanish speaker, and this man took absolutely no mercy. I even had Spanish tutoring, just for this class, and I still failed.

Overall, he is a pretty good professor. He definitely know what he is talking about the whole time. The only bad thing about this class is the way he grades tests. Other than that as long as you pay attention, get your homework done, study, and do good on essays, you will do fine. You do gain a lot of knowledge, that's for sure.

Dr. Galindo has a lot of personality and is some what of a lay back professor. Make sure you buy the class text book as soon as possible & also be prepared to write notes in lecture he teaches very quickly at times. There are multiple assignments, essays and on average two quizzes a month.

The material we covered in this class was tough, but he is hilarious! Tests are tough and are a mix of grammar and culture. There is one presentation that you do by yourself or with a group (he chooses) about a Latin-American country. He gives lots of examples, but be sure to keep up. The material builds on itself, so ask for help

Let me start by saying his favorite verb is "matar" which means to kill. He is one of the most sarcastic, knowledgeable teachers at UNLV. He is smart and funny, which can make him seem arrogant. I definitely recommend taking his class.

He is very knowledgable but can be intimidating at times. Seems to show a lack of patience at times but nothing too extreme. If you work hard and study your notes you will do well. If you slack off he has no patience for that which is COMPLETELY UNDERSTANDABLE! DO your work, revise it, research it & turn it in on time.

He is funny and helpful. If you go in during study hours he will work with you till you understand. He assigns 3 essays, you do have a Final and a Midterm but a few quizes. It is NOT a class to slack in and going to class is mandatory though, if you dont go you can't pass because he teaches most everything in class rather than out of book.

HE IS A VERY FUNNY TEACHER AND EXPECTS YOU TO READ BEFORE THE NEXT CLASS IN ORDER TO KNOW WHAT THE CLASS WILL BE ABOUT. THERE 3 EXAMS AND THEY ARE EASY IF YOU STUDY!! ALSO, YOU MAY ASK FOR PRACTICE WORKSHEETS TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND THE LESSONS BETTER.

Hard class, sets standards high but for your own good! Assignments were easy but needed clarification. Very humerous professor. Mandatory attendence, native speaker and learned a great deal about the culture. READ THE BOOK! or else he'll start quizzing on the reading material. Quizzes are hard and exams are harder!

Jorge is a smart man, but he is always lost on what day it is and gives way too much information at once. He sets high standards, but is somewhat willing to help if you are persistant. I am a native speaker and I found that this is one of the hardest most boring classes I have ever taken. He talks the entire class pd.

Class was somewhat difficult. Too much information that needs to be learned. Prof. Galindo does explain every single subject but since it is so much, sometimes is hard to remember everything. He is such a great instructor but the course work is too much.

Great sense of humor, but subtle. Sets the bar very high so be sure you're studying out of class at least 2 hrs for every hr in class. Much more helpful in office hrs than after class. Homework level is out of this world. Labs, compositions, workbooks, plus studying for exams every other week. Not for the faint of Spanish heart.

I am a native speaker but this class was extremely hard. The teacher shows favortism so stay on his good side. Takes off too many points for the smallest mistakes. Make sure there is no accent in your name, or suffer the consequences!
