This man is an embarrassment to the Chicano Studies department. His curriculum has not been updated to include contemporary material at all, I took him 3 times for 3 different classes, it was all the same intro n lecture. This class was so easy that I rarely showed up and still got an A. God forbid you email him, he never responds.

He was a good teacher! Basically just show up and pay attention to the slides, you do not have to take notes. The midterm was multiple choice and I just goggled the terms, made flash cards and got an A. I did the same thing for the final. The written assignments are a piece of cake. Some lectures are boring but over all a very chill class.

He just lectures during class and doesn't let you take notes. He hardly gives out homework. One midterm and a final. The powerpoint are online but it doesn't really help.

On the essays he collected he graded pretty tough. He never gave back the assignments and never gave feedback. All the books that were "required" were only used once.

Not an easy class as you would like. The subject is interesting, but the professor is a joke as he is not there to help. He is there to do a job and that is to get paid, not help you. His study guide is not helpful at all as almost none is on the exam. Try it at your own risk with this professor.

Worst of the worst!!! I thought this class was going to an average class. Its not its a Professor that does not like to help his students and sets them up to fail. His study guide for test is a joke. He is hard if you are OK on exams. If you are good at memorizing then you should be able to pass. He grades on exams that's it, prepare to fail.

I was looking forward to taking this class, but boy was I wrong about his class being an easy A class. The lectures are long, the book was never used, his study guide was not helpful for the exams. I have been going to De Anza for 3 years and if you are thinking of taking one of his classes beware he is not your typical helpful professor.

Easy "A" just show up to lectures and do the study guides. He tends to go fast during lectures so don't even attempt to take notes, all lectures/Videos are eventually posted online for you to review before a test. He never gives back graded tests tho so you'll never know what you got right or wrong. HE WILL NOT GIVE YOU THE TEST IF YOU'RE LATE!

Mr. Guevara is passionate about the subject, however, he lectures at us for the entirety of the period, quickly moving through crammed, busy slides without any student participation. Mr. Guevara explicitly asks us not to take notes but asks very specific questions on tests. # scores are shown but doesn't return papers and absolutely no feedback

get the textbook because the midterm and quiz are fully from that. Easy class, 1 paper,1 quiz, 1 midterm,1 group presentation. Very strict on attendance (which affects grade significantly) though, and reduces letter grade for work handed in late. However its a good class to take if ur looking for an easy class to balance with ur harder classes.

In process of taking his class. He's unclear and doesn't keep the class engaged. for those who wanted to take this course, please be aware because you wont learn anything. He's pretty flexible because this class only consist 1 midterm + take home final, no HW and 2 art critiques thats due by the end of the quarter.

Boring class but very little work. Class consists of two essays (midterm and final) and two art critiques. He is very nice but no very clear/helpful and doesnt respond to email. That being said, best ICS class to take if you simply need to fulfill requirement with no art interest

Easy A - lots of writing, no mandatory tests. He encourages you to relax and not take notes during his fast-paced lectures, which is kinda cool. All slides are posted online and taking this FT with other classes wasn't difficult. Not all that interesting of a subject, but he did a good job of making it into one.

Average. As long as you put in a little effort, you'll get a good grade in this class. He seems passionate about his topic, but is also passionate about disciplining students if you're out of line. Make sure to turn everything in on time!

I had this guy for ICS7 (intercultural communications). He seems cool at first, but after a while he brings out his inner jerk. As far as assignments go, he is very unclear about them, he makes the assignments worth very little points, and its a lot of work. The class seems easy, but asks for a lot worth very little. There's better teachers.

His class is extremely easy & BORING. OMG... Im in the process of taking his class right now, I used to show up to every class meeting but soon realized there's no point. 1 mid-term (take home or in class)..2 critiques & 1 home final.
