Professor Lezcano is a very nice man, despite what many of the reviews say he really cares about his students and loves to have conversations after class if you have questions. His grading is harder than average however if you take notes during class and do the readings you will be fine. quizzes are open note and count for 30% of your grade.

He is all over the place with his lectures and what we do in class. You play the panpipes and are required to perform in an on-stage performance. The midterm is hard but it is open notebook and the final work is a lot of work but easy. He is a hard grader but very nice professor.

I have him for applied lesson, guitar orchestra, and is my advisor. I have never heard a single useful thing from him. Also, his ego is extremely big for working at a state college. In my guitar lesson he has picked up the guitar maybe twice in 3 years. I feel like i have been screwed out of an education and its mostly because of this guy.

I took Latin America Music survey class with him and it was wonderful. A lot of reading and lectures but we also spent classes playing the panpipes which were fun. The tests are hard but are open notebook and he gives a study guide. There are also extra credit on the midterm and final, so it's very possible to get a 100 on the midterm (I did).

This guy is the worst teacher for theory i have ever had! he is very unsure of himself and can not teach at all. His lesson plans are terrible. just because he has a Phd in music doesnt justify that he can teach and his students will understand him. great guy, but aweful teacher, do not take his class, you will get lost

Very poor communication skills. English is a concept beyond his comprehension. He is one of the many reasons the KSC music program is considered a joke. Great Talent does NOT equal Great Teacher.

I really enjoyed classes with Lezcano. He has a very thick accent, which makes him hard to understand. Ask for help if you need it, he will not approach you. But when you ask, he spends as much time as needed to make sure you understand the concepts.
