He's a very kind professor. His lectures are listening based. He doesn't like it when people are disrespectful. In class there are a lot of listening assignments and for homework is writing. He is VERY smart and doesn't mind answering questions and explains them thoroughly. He is a very good professor and would totally recommend taking his classes.

Professor Darby is a smart guy. He does not tolerate people who are disrespectful or uninterested, but that's understandable. He gives a good amount of essays and only two tests. He plays a lot of videos and examples of music. He never makes you feel bad about your answers in class, and will elaborate if you ask him anything. MU114, Easy class!

Darby is a really nice, understanding guy, but is rather boring. He's very knowledgeable but doesn't tolerate lack of interest in his class. He never says your answer is wrong, just tries to add to it. Overall a very nice guy.

Joseph Darby is probably THE smartest person you will ever meet, but he has an egotistic attitude that will make you feel stupid if you are sensitive. As long as you can put up with his picking on you, you will find his classes interesting. And if you work hard for a good grade, you will earn his respect, though this is quite a feat
