Comment:

Hyman is a terrible professor; he assigns lots of homework and tells you that the homework will help when it comes to the final. I did each assignment multiple times; however, I always got a poor grade. When I ask him what more I should do, all he replies is homework. He speaks very softly so SIT IN THE FRONT. Don't take him if you're poor at math

Comment:

Explains things well. He's very old, does not give points for homework. Tough grader and wont give in if theres a conflict with score. Throws curve balls on test day. Grade based on your test results. No extra credit. Strict in class. Dont be late, dont talk when hes talking. Makes you memorize all formulas. No calculators. Many failures and drops.

He's a good professor. He goes over the material until you understand it. He'll also go over any homework question you struggled with. His tests are pretty much like the problem he assigns from the homework, so make sure to do the homework. He doesn't always collect the homework, so grades are mostly based on test scores.

I'm a straight A student, a member of Mensa, went to every class and got 100% of the programming points, but the best I was able to do on the final was a 48/100, and that was with lots of studying. There is something seriously wrong with the way this class is taught and graded. There was no book used for the class. No office hours either.

Smart professor. His lectures clear and easy to understand. He does go over hw problem during class to help students understand. However, the exams can sometimes be pretty tricky and he grades pretty hard. Also ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY!! HE DEDUCTS 3 OR 5 POINTS EVERYTIME U MISS CLASS. BE AWARE!!!

An easy teacher. The homework isn't too much and it prepares you for the test considering he sometimes takes problems from it. Mostly helpful, but when asking homework questions, he may just ignore a suggestion and do a different one, not always similar to the one asked. You don't need to bring the book to class; you can just use an e-book.

Nice guy, but his class is pretty hard. I took him and had to drop the class due to the fact that his lectures put me to sleep. I got so lost in the material and wasn't used to his teaching style. All his notes were basically computer code and his lectures were basically all done on the laptop. Didn't teach us how code worked, just showed us it did

Mr. Hyman is actually a pretty great teacher. He does quite a bit to help you. The homework problems don't always prepare you for the test, so you should put in some extra effort but he always goes over questions.

I adored prof. Hyman. He was super quaint and easy to understand. He took the time to answer your questions and never made me hesitate to ask them. I was really nervous when I started the class, but I have a great understanding of trig now, and i owe it to his teaching. Upfront with what to study and spent the time helping me.

The HW doesn't count for "credit", but he docks you off if you don't turn it in. The tests are similar from the problems in your HW, but he doesn't give you clues for what to study. His notes are useless. Not a good teacher cause he explains only the most basic concepts. The class is boring. Attendence is mandatory for the usless lectures.

Do not take him. He is somewhat fair, but he will literally not curve your grade a tenth of a point. He drops a test, but you're better off taking someone who is more clear when teaching, not just in their own head.

Intelligent, helpful, and clear. Class is very straightforward. Do the HW and pay attention. If you have trouble ask him, he is very nice. Lectures are not boring if you actually participate. Sit in the front to hear him clearly. Compared to other CS professors, he has a knack for making abstract topics trivial.

He is an excellent teacher, very nice man. He even makes "math" jokes during lecture Very enjoyable class. Easy to talk to, answers questions. Drops lowest test! :) Make sure you do the hw! Some test questions are FROM hw! Go to his website he will handout! Very helpful Take him!!

hes a good teacher...but you need to keep up with the hw and the work. the tests are hard, and challenging, but you get the hang of it after a while. you cant afford to fall behind in this course-- ud have a lot to catch up on. he is a good teacher, but very boring, and serious about the subject. 4 tests, 1 final, drops lowest test grade too.keepup

Go to mojavex.net/cs to get his match 170 tests while they're still up!!! He uses the same tests. If he does end up changing them they will be good study guides. His class wasn't hard... as long as you do the homework and understand the material, you'll be ok. Also he gets a good portion of the problems from the even numbers of the homework.

Dr. Hyman is a really nice guy. Great teaching method; crystal clear. Is always willing to help you if you don't get something. Goes step by step to make sure everyone understands. He's funny, too, and very respectful of students. No surprises on tests. However, do your homework (all of it) or you're utterly screwed.
