Comment:

Great guy and teacher, practically a friend after having him this whole year. You always know exactly what he wants from you, and he is very clear and concise with his work. The class actually challenges you and makes you think, writing becomes a breeze. Highly recommend you take this class for Lawrence is amazing, and the work load is minimal

Taking this class my freshman year has been my best decision at school so far. Lawrence is a great man who has worked here for years. He is respected and will respect you in return. Always reached out to students and offered help. I took him both semesters and I could not be more grateful, can not wait until next year once again. MUST TAKE CLASS

Hands down the best professor I had at Holy Cross. Lawrence is an incredible professor. He teaches outside the lines, and doesn't restrict his lectures to any set path. GO TO OFFICE HOURS.

Is Professor Lawrence human? A figure of our imagination? Or divine? After taking his class, I will never know. After suffering through math/science classes, Professor Lawrence was a breath of fresh-air and an INCREDIBLE professor. He makes you think, take a step back, and analyze. I wish I went to his office hours. Easy grader too!

I LOVED this class. The papers were fun to write AND short! (which is rare!!) The work wasn't easy and he expects alot but I also learned to think differently then I had before. He is really really smart and he will always surprise you! :)

Had him for an hour and fifteen twice a week. Sometimes, if you didn't get enough sleep before, it can be hard to stay awake. Other days, he can be extremely interesting. No tests, 3 papers all year and one final paper (no final). He got me interested in PHIL and its now my major. He's also "wicked" smart.

Incredibily intelligent professor. He knows the material very well, though it is evident (as he will be the first one to admit) that he does not really make very structured lecture plans. He just gets in front of the class and explains the material as clear as possible. The class readings are tough.

What a wonderful professor. Sometimes he is hard to follow but he truly knows the material and brings it to life in class. Coursework is difficult but not exceedingly so. Easily one of the best professors at the school! Highly recommended!
