He can be vague when it comes to assignments but that is because there is multiple ways to do things, and he gives you everything you need to complete the labs. Labs are the majority of the grade and if you show up to class he helps and they are easy to do well on. I am not a computer person but I have learned a lot. Textbook is helpful to clarify.

This man is soo confusing. He constantly tries to make analogies, but they are rarely applicable. He is so incredibly vague when it comes to assignments. Everything is always up in the air. He will email you an hour before class w/ important info. He acts like his class is the only one you're taking. Don't even try to ask him about your grade.

Dr. Marchal is incredibly nice. He will find extraordinarily complicated ways to explain incredibly simple concepts, but he will answer the same question in a different way until you understand it. He really cares that everyone is doing well. His patience and caring make up for his oddities by a long shot. He's a really great guy.

Dr. Marchal is a great guy and very helpful one on one just wait for him to come to you in class and he can explain everything and just try and pay attention to him it makes it easier to ask him questions

Took him for programming. He is a terrible teacher and has a terrible time trying to explain simple concepts. He gets extremely frustrated when you ask him questions in class. Shows no respect toward his students. Overall, the class is pretty easy, tests are a little hard, but you can use a notecard.

He's a pretty friendly guy.Terrible at teaching, however.Seems to have trouble expressing somewhat simple concepts,just ask TA for help.I myself is a visual learner, a lot of times he just has a useless slide and talks (using hand gestures) for minutes to no end, great guy, not a very clear teacher. Take Teate if you can for 252.

I've had Marchal for three classes and I find him to be a pretty fair teacher, but to get the most out of him, you have to try to catch him one-on-one either during class or during office hours. he's always trying his best to help, which is a great thing
