Great professor, but he just retired! I don't understand why people hate on him. Yes, you need to study your butt off for his test, but I was never interested in biology until I took his class. You get out what you put in.

Excellent teacher!!! I found Ecology very interesting. Dr. Mele is awesome and pretty helpful if you're having a difficult time understanding the material. His exams are based on his power points . There no need to buy a textbook. If you study the power points, then you'll have a good chance in passing his class.

The most awesome professor I ever had. His tests are not that hard if you pay attention and read the lecture slides. I got all A's. He is really funny & I enjoyed his class. He doubled my interest in ecology.

Prof. Mele has a real passion for Ecology. Our class was early, but it was easy to learn stuff after by looking at the power points. Also the whole course is on the computer, so you can do anything you need to (Facebook, paying bills) while you listen to him talk haha. You won't believe some of the stuff he says, very funny. I loved this class :)

I new the first day of class that he was going to be a horrible teacher. I am getting D's on all the pre-tests and tests and am on the border of failing the class. I have never failed a class before. This guy is horrible. DON'T TAKE HIM! I would drop out of school before I ever took one of his classes again.

Awful teacher. Just awful. Took him for biology of envrionmental concerns and it was a 2 hour 45 minute class of staring at a computer screen. He is boring and lectures nonstop. Tests are a little ridiculous. Avoid this guy.

hes HORRIBLE! the most boring person in the world and his lecture just goes on and on. its difficult not to fall asleep. he doesnt care at all about his students. i got a 79 in his class and he wouldnt even round it up to a 80 so i could get a B. DONT TAKE HIM !

Very approachable and professional. He was prepared for lectures, provided enough teaching of the material and the resources necessary to do well on exams, and he was a pleasure to talk to during off-topic discussion. I think these refuses are flawed. I am a conservative and still loved this guy.

Had him online. Very responsive. Hard as I am not a science person, but if you pay attention and show you are putting forth an effort, you are rewarded with a good grade. Having classmates that don't put forth any effort helps as he curves grades. I had no interest in the subject before I took this class, but was definitely interested after.
