Really great professor, teacher, lecturer, and more importantly, human-being. Even if you're a philosophy student, seriously try to take his classes because they're life changing and totally shifted my worldview. Attendance is not mandatory and Orosco is very helpful when you ask for feedback! Don't hesitate.

Great teacher, has entertaining lectures and keeps the classroom very casual. Knows philosophy well and knows how to make it easy to understand. Pretty lenient grader and tells you what he expects in the papers and assignments.

You essentially write a short essay every week for this class, but aside from the short essays and readings, that's pretty much the only homework for this class. The midterm and finals are also essays but they're also pretty short. He's a good professor, he makes you think!

In my opinion, everyone should take a political philosophy class. If you do, choose Orosco! He's very friendly, and eager to get you into office hours, which I highly recommend. There are daily reading quizzes, but the reading is really cool and eye opening, and necessary if you want to participate in discussion. Overall really good experience, wta

This class is one of the hardest and most eye-opening classes I have ever taken. Orosco makes you rethink what you have been taught about politics and see the government through a new lens. There is a lot of reading and reading quizzes but the reading is very interesting. He is an incredible teacher and I suggest that everyone takes him!

Orosco is absolutely incredible! He really makes you think about the world around you and plays the devil's advocate to help his students think through their opinions. His lectures may seem long but they fly by! He is engaging in class and wants all of his students to succeed. There is a lot of reading but they are interesting! Best teacher ever!!

Great teacher and great class. Easy to pay attention through the 80 minute lectures. Inspiring. Great in class discussions. Very helpful if you do not understand a concept. Would take any class of his.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE him! He is so smart and makes you question everything and shows you new perspectives. If he could teach all my classes, I'd be so cool with that. He is a relatively tough grader. You actually have to do an exceptional job to get an A but it's totally worth taking his class even if you have to work. Take phl150 if you can it's fab.

ugh, he pretends to listen and care, but he really doesn't. professor orozco is a giant contradiction and it is funny that such a person would be instructing others an anything related to ethics, morality, or social values because i am not entirely sure that he knows anything about them. if you chose to take his course, good luck.

If you feel he's "picking" on you for your beliefs, perhaps you need to evaluate how you back up said beliefs. These kinds of skills are kind of important in philosophy..

I liked how he always played devil's advocate in a way that made people think about the subject matter more deeply. ES 213 is a discussion based class which I liked a lot. The discussions could get very intense at times which I thought was great!

The amount of work is fair - BUT! you are graded very harshly on reports. Be prepared to work very hard for anything better than a C. Lectures are interesting and worth your time. He is definetly very bright and you're likely to learn a lot.

Wonderful guy, always intersting (and interested) both in and out of class. He was always willing to listen and always had great ideas. As for the liberal bias that is total BS. He has a bias against those who feel that it is ok to walk on others for mon
