Comment:

Applied Stats I is an easy A as long as you take good notes, however you will learn nothing. Lectures are incredibly boring and read entirely off of slides. Quizzes are open note. Labs are incomprehensible Matlab programming projects which the TAs will walk you through.

Only teaches using his powerpoints, which have 100 words per slide. Doesn't seem to care about his students and is rude and disrespectful towards them. Quizzes are multiple choice, no partial credit. Labs are super hard. Get ready to teach yourself everything.

Comment:

Flies through Chapter 5 and 6 (the only difficult ones) and makes the quizzes extremely picky. No partial credit and he is completely unapproachable outside of class because he will offer no assistance. Hes basically a walking textbook.

Okay, he is a nice guy, but probably gives the most boring lectures of all time. Of the 150 kids in my class, 20 show up daily. Quizzes are nothing like practice tests, Labs are impossible , TA's are unhelpful as well. This class is horrible, take the other guy. Only bright side is you can't fail but its hard to get a B!

One of the worst professors I have ever had. He doesn't really teach. Every class he reads powerpoints word for word, and never does any relevant or helpful examples. The quizzes are either very easy or impossible. The final was extremely picky and very hard. Get ready to teach yourself most of the material.

The worst professor I've had. Boring and long lectures that doesn't even make sense. Lecture notes, the book that he wrote as well as him teaching in class is the worst three combination you can have in your life. He makes STATS harder that a grad robotics class. DONT TAKE THAT CLASS.

Horrible professor. Quiz questions are ridiculously picky and are on information that he barely skims in class. Doesn't actually teach anything, just reads vague slides during lecture. On the last chapter with 4 weeks of class left because he ran through the rest of the material.

Utterly useless at explaining the content, meeting with other students was the only way I passed the class. He seems to live in a world of statistics and doesn't understand that people don't understand what he's teaching. Although tests are open book many students found it challenging and a number of them failed the class with As on all tests but 1

Had him for MA 2611 and MA 2612. Both classes work the same (need to pass each of the 4 "objectives"...have 3 tries to do so for each) Can get an A with no problems (as long as you do the work!). Lecture notes posted on myWPI and they come straight from the book (which he helped write). Open EVERYTHING on all tests/quizzes!

Extremely easy to get a C, really easy to get a B, hard to get an A. The Final is infamously difficult. Petrucelli is also known for being extremely boring- and he knows it. He asks "why are you still awake?" Have to admit its pretty funny. He is also not very helpful. He will point you to TAs before he offers his own help

Required to pass quizzes to pass the class but given 3 chances for each. Failed one quiz, called him on incorrect grading, eventually agreed with my argument but refused to give points back. Is of no help outside of the classroom whatsoever. Good thing: quizzes are open notes, open book. Automaticall receive a C if all quizzes are passed.

He is a teacher who makes the class very easy to pass. The problem is, though, that he will slow up the class to help people, and he may end up not getting to some of the material he originally planned to cover. All in all, he is a great teacher, regardless of what this system thinks what I put was.

My IQP advisor - he sucked. Feedback was all on grammar and provided almost no help with developing the project itself. He has zero interest in advising IQP's. After giving everyone hell all term, he slapped a B on everyone's project! Worst experience at WPI I've had was with this guy.

I had him for Stats1 and thought he was a hardass, but then took Stats2 with him E-Term and found out you just have to approach him for help. He really loves the material so that clouds his judgment on how interested you are, but if you read the book and get help when you need it you can actually LEARN alot and enjoy knowing what you're doing.
