Avoid like the plague. There were no solidified expectations for the class. A paper, which, essentially he chooses the subject and a final, which consisted two questions from his text book based upon thirty year old information. When questioned, he became very condescending in his response and indicated that I was lucky to receive what I did.

GO TO CLASS! His tests are 15-17 short answer questions. Write every single thing he puts on the board and his verbal explanation of the concepts. His tests are crazy. You have to write word for word what he talked about in class. His curve saves everyone but his tests are no joke.

Sanborn is a pretty good professor. Luckily, you won't need a book so at least you'll save some money. Everything he writes on the board is on the test so there's no surprises and you must have everything memorized word for word. Only thing I didn't like is that he only has 2 tests. I wish we would have at least 1 or 2 more. In other words, STUDY!!

Professor Sanborn is a great professor and his lectures are great as well, the only problem is his tests. His tests are all written and he gives no study guide you have to know everything he talked about because it could all be on the exam, he only gives about 17 questions and you only have a midterm and a final.

I took him online and eveyrhing went smoothly! Would definitely take him again. Your grade consisted of 4 25 question exams. Timed at 50 minutes each. Book is essential to passing.

He's an extremely tough teacher, but he condenses everything down to like 10 pages of notes, however you need to know exactly what he puts on the board word for word. During his reviews ask why things are important. EVERYTHING WILL BE ON THE TEST.

Took in fall 2013. Unclear expectations, only two grades (paper and final). Exam 2 open ended global essay questions which leave lots of room for (mis)interpretation. No concept of grade until end of semester when assignments due. Condescending if you attempt a discussion about your gradeperformance and says you're luck to get the grade you did.

Had mr sanborn for pros. & adj. As well as legal procedure in CJ. This professor challenges the way you think and as he says prepares you for graduate school. First day of class he dropped every curse word imaginable. Take lots of notes and go to every class or prepare to fail. Two grades. Midterm & final. Very educational and very difficult.

I took for pros & adjudication, he makes the classes fun. Does the f-word.mhe makes you think. Tests are the hardest I've ever taken. I don't expect an easy A in classes but I don't expect the exams so hard that no one in the class passes. The goodness he grades on a huge curve.

Although the course only consisted of a paper and final examination, it provided a challenging perspective into the foundation of the juvenile justice system. I must admit that it was quite daunting not knowing what grade I received until final grades, but thankfully I did well. One piece of advice is not to plagarize or self-plagarize.

Horrible professor, absolutely terrible. Had all A's before taking this class. Only has one paper and a final that consisted of two questions. Expects you to learn everything on your own and only offers vague instructions. Told me that I failed the course but he was generous and gave me a C.

Worst professor ever! Unless you want him to screw up your GPA DO NOT take his class! One paper with no instructions, 2 questions on final, no "chit-chat" during the whole course. You are on your own. He does NOT respect you opinion at all!

DO NOT TAKE SANBORN FOR CCJ 6020. There is only a paper and a final. He doesn't give any feedback and you won't know your grade until grades are posted at the end of the semester. First time ever in my life getting a C. He is the worst. He throws a 500 page book at you and expects you to read everything. The final is vague and is only two questions

Sanborn is an awesome teacher and knows his stuff, keeps you interested the whole time and is passionate about what he does. If you are lazy, don't take his class. He has clear cut expectations, Midterm and Final, short essay questions. Bottom line, write what he puts on the board, remember it word for word and you will get an A, as I did

I would NOT recommend a single soul take Sanborn's CJJ 6020 Juvenile Justice! He's the worst subjective grader at UCF! Course was graded on a position paper (got zero feedback on my grade!) and a Final that was 3 essay questions and only 90 mins to complete! Got my first and only C ever, and he said I was lucky I didn't get an F!

Don't need to waste your money on the book, he even says so. Only 2 exams in the class. Luckily got a B in the class. His exams are HARD! No slide show or notes. All verbal!! Make sure to have your computer on you. First day of class had 50 students. Last day of class there was only 10 students. He even said he's a difficult professor.

The guy is nice enough when you're talking to him one on one. But that doesn't do anything for your grade. I think he needs to give the potty-mouth jokes a rest and concentrate on making his tests a little more relatable. There's only 2 essay exams and that's your whole grade. I had a great deal of trouble with this class.

Very poor.Goes over the test after he grades it and even if you wrote what he said word for word you can't get full credit on anything. Threatens to lower the grade already given if you challenge any of his grading. All essay. Two exams, each worth 50% of your grade. Highest grade on midterm was in the 50s. Curve is a joke, you're lucky to get a C.
