Prof. Skerrett isn't unclear, he's just fairly lenient. You can pretty much do papers about whatever you want, what's wrong with that?!?! I mean, I guess in response to those before me, he doesn't break it down and tell us what to write on, but then again, we're not in 8th grade anymore.

I took practical criticism for my junior year requirement and WITHDREW because I just could not stand wasting my time in his class anymore. He is so frustrating and just makes you get into groups and discuss who knows what. Does not encourage a stimulating environment for learning, and it is time for him to retire. Do not have him as a professor!

This class is horrible! He shows up late every day, and it took him half the semester to learn the names of his students. The material presented is repetative and mostly about racial identity. Discussions are often flat as a result. If you are looking for a real English class look elsewhere.

How sad to be proud of NOT reading assigned class material and writing a paper on it. I think that person was in my discussion group and it was a dull group. Read the materials and join in the class discussion and be surprised. Prof S. uses examples from film, books, current events to teach.

He's not a great lecturer, comes off as irritable but he's actually a nice guy, has difficulty keeping discussions going, is a very easy grader though. I wrote a free-write on a book I hadn't read a page of and got full credit. Class was more like a history/racial identities class than English.
