Very intimidating guy. It's a really hard class, and his tests are hard. He lectures for most of the classes, so participation and good notes are essential and enough for a good participation grade. Don't take this class unless your a Spanish major; all you do is read and write about literature, there's very few opportunities for conversing.

Juan Ramon is a nice guy who refuses to pick favorites among his students. He is a little tough on his essay grading, but I also am not great at Spanish. He always is joking around and can make the classes a lot of fun if you are willing to try.

the man's a god. he's funny, he knows his subject, and (no matter what he says) he absolutely loves teaching. i'm taking spanish at 9 am this semester just because he's teaching the class... seriously considering taking a second major in spanish because of him.

This class was the reason I am not a Spanish major anymore. It was really difficult. He made class interesting and he's a really nice guy. He is willing to help you out, and his tests aren't that hard. But it's easy to fall behind if you stop caring like I did.
