Comment:

By far the best teacher I have ever had (that includes many teachers from a million different subject areas I have studied)! Best critical feedback, made me an excellent writer almost all of her own doing. Class conversations were very interesting. She taught me how to close read like a expert which really has helped in subsequent courses.

Fantastic prof. One of the best I've had. She's friendly, she's funny, and she wants you to succeed even more than you do. She listens to class feedback and the way she conducts classes makes it easy to make friends and ask questions; the short version is that she's fantastic and you should take her classes.

Comment:

Generally a very good lecturer, and very interesting choices of subject matter for most of the class. I didn't like how we spent only one class on any one theorist, and felt I only had a very superficial understanding of the critical theory portion of the class. This is probably more the fault of the course than the professor.

My favourite professor ever. Willing to take time to go over concepts in class, not afraid to engage in dialouge, knows the material backwards and forwards. If you come to her for help on a paper she'll do research on your topic herself just so she can help you better. Her classes take alot of work, but you'll get more out of thme than you put in.

Truly cares about teaching, and expects her students to care about learning. Really gets to the bare bones of understanding and interpreting literature. Probably the most useful and enjoyable English class I've ever taken.

Judith is tough as nails but you will definately leave her class a better writer and critical thinker. I learned more about writing in my one class with her than during my entire MA.
