DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! Skips around a lot and drones on and on. Not interesting at all. I would definitely recommend switching out of her class if you get her! Hard to pay attention and extremely difficult to keep up!

She seems like a very sweet person but I could not stand her class. You find yourself day dreaming the whole time. Tests are difficult. Definitely attend the study sessions, it pays off.

WARNING: Do NOT take this teacher if you are a guy. If you even think about raising your hand she'll give you the most sour "I hate you" look you've ever seen. Girls, she seems perfectly fine with. Then again, what should we expect from a women's studies teacher other than an extreme feminist.

Professor Raftery is a good teacher. She jumps around from topic to topic. Get her notes off her VISTA and use those as guidelines. If you need extra help go get a tutor. Also go in during her office hours for extra help and to show that you're interested in her class that will help a lot. Do the extra credit..it helps your grade!

Lecture is BORING! She talks and talks and her topics are scattered. She takes role but isn't very on top of a lot of things. It's an easy class if you need to take it, and it's easy to get buy with out reading much, but the class is so Dull.

She is a really funny and seemingly intelligent woman, but she seems bored through most the class. While the readings she assigns are normally interesting, they are heavy and long and useless. Her lectures are long pointless and boring and have no point. She is horrible with technology but she at leasts attempts and uses vista sometimes. Nice woman

Very very boring doesn't go into detail on things i found interesting. You have to be in class and she takes role every day. The tests and quizs are pretty easy. She isn't that bright, today she had problems getting the overhead set up, and the cd player to work. She has potential if she learned some simple things. If you need the class its not bad

WORST PROFESSOR!! her lectures are not only lengthy and boring but scattered, off topic and COMPLETELY irrelevant to her tests. if you want a better chance to pass, READ THE BOOK; taking noted based on what she says will get you NO WHERE. very self engaged class and i HIGHLY suggest dropping this class to get another teacher if you want to pass.

This professor's lectures are extremely confusing. She is too scatterbrained to stay on materials that will be on the test, and her tests are so poorly typed that you can't understand what questions are being asked. Takes attendance every day. Highest scores in class on exams are around 75-79%.

I took her about 5 or 6 years ago. I think she had just gotten her PH D around that time. Not a good professor. I had her for a 3 hour class on US Social History, and it was so tedious and boring. She is so unorganized and it is reflected in her lectures and the general organization of the class. Nice lady, but she is in way over her head. I cant believe that Chico hired her. She borders on being incompotent. Stay away from her classes, they are a waste of time. Can anyone say Affirmative Action.
