Comment:

Mrs. Waite was a hard teacher, but she helped me become a better speaker because of it. She rewards her students based on preparation and execution, and, even if you falter in the actual speech, if you make it clear you really know your stuff you'll get a good grade. Nice lady--helped out this reluctant speaker quite a bit.

Comment:

At the time, I was so pissed that my roomate had this GA for a teacher while I had Mrs. Waite. I poured over my speeches preparing for days on end and rehearsing for hours. My roomate, however, threw something together the night before and we ended up with the same grade. . . an "A". Looking back, I wouldn't change it. Mrs. Waite demanded work from me, and why should I expect less? a Great teacher.

Wasn't the most helpful, but Freshmen need somebody like her. Many years later she still remembers my name and who I am. She has a lot of fun stories to tell about the school. Almost a Grandmother type, Almost.

Biased, plays favorites, doesn't always "practice what she preeches." (One important principle is to not wear distracting clothes while giving a speech--she does. Very large earrings, etc.) She was not a fun teacher.

I highly suggest drop add if you get her. She IS biased and definitely has her favorites. I found her quite condenscending and scared every time I went to speak. (I still remember her peircing eyes.) She's like your grandma turned evil.
