Julie lays the guidelines out right from the beginning. There isn't any slacking off in this class. Study and take everything you can from each lecture and you should do fine. Julie makes it the material very clear. I enjoyed this class and I enjoyed her as an instructor.

Don't miss a class (I never missed one) or even be late by 5 min (I was late twice). Your grade will get docked for every time. I thought I was doing well in the class until I got my grade, which isn't passing. Just be careful of taking this class. If you are a nursing major then you will do fine, she rather teach future nurses. Good luck!

I really enjoyed this teacher. She was nurse, so she knew a lot about the medical field. quizes and assignments are easy as long as you study. I highly suggest making index cards.

Ok, so I didn't do well in the class because my grade dropped a letter every day I missed. She is/was a tough teacher but very smart and tried to teach you well. I liked her, but if you miss a class, BEWARE.

I've never had such an uninteresting English class. She used to be a nurse and somehow has found a way to diminish any creativity you may have associated English with. There is a very structured, scientific method she uses to approach writing. If you like English for creativity don't take this class. I once had a passion for writing... Not now.

if you are a nursing major, or even looking to go into the medical field it will be worth while all the hw is centralized around medical journals and even the book we are required to read it about a medical surgeon. I loved english but she defintley kills it for me. She plays favorites to those who attend her workshops or agree with her views.

This is a Critical Thinking class, and she requires people to look beyond the status quo. Some people bash her. Yes, we look at politics as well as advertising. She does require people to be on time, there is homework everyday, and she expects that students have taken Engl 2. It's called being a student, and an adult.

i never knew that a english class could be surrounded by so much politics!! it slowly became old and repetitive. her test were ok and her assingments were irritating...i thought i was getting an A the whole time all my papers indicated it! and i was given a C!i normally don't complain about grades but i new i earned better then that-playsfavorites

julie leigh is extremely political, thus her class is all about politics. she is definitely a liberal and loves to bash conservatives. personally i don't like politics, democrats or republicans. even if you like politics this class will drive you INSANE! just because republicans don't have the answer it doesn't mean democrats do. not recommended.

Enjoyed the class. It really isn't that hard, but takes a lot of time for homework, so if you have a heavy load, wouldn't recommend. There is homework EVERY class. It does help you think critically and she does make it politcal, but I like politics.

Dude, she is out of control. I am a democrat and she has me shaking my head most of the time, she is so far out in left field! Don't disagree openly with her views though, or your grade will show it. She is an alright person one on one but is rediculous in many ways. Claims she is unbiased but swings way to the left, and if you disagree with her, your grade will suffer. Way to uptight with tardies, locked door at 9:31....didn't care why you were late. Sent students to VP office for tardies. I wouldn't recommend her ever!

i liked her class, i didn't feel she was biased at all but rather just speaking the truth (which happens to make it sound like she swings to the left rather than the right). there will be a lot of eye openers in this class. but as people have said, just make sure you're on time and you do all your homework.

this is an incredibly biased class. I have always gotten positive grades in English until I took Julie. Her attendance standard is rediculous, and everything she teaches down to all the movies she shows and books we used are biased and liberal. If your taking an English class find someone else with an open mind.
