I've never had a teacher who was this arrogant with nothing to show for it. Her lectures are drawn from outdated, arguable sources and on top of it all, she has an incredible mean streak. Needs to be put out to pasture.

Really bad teacher, one of two horrible teachers in the Soc dept. I encountered. The amount of work is outrageous, and the most you can hope for is a C, if your an A or B student. If your a C student you'll probably Fail. Don't torture yourself, choose a different class.

Despite the other comments, I actually enjoyed this professor very much. She's very funny and her class is straightforward. You need to do all the reading, come to all the classes, take good notes, and pay attention. We're not in high school anymore. Work like a college student and you should be fine.

This professor is very anal retentive. She makes the quizzes on 4-5 chapters of the reading hard to get a 100 even if you read and take notes. The highest grade i got was a 95 and I still only passed with a C. Her essay test represent her personality which is very meticulous for a soc 100 class. If you have the option for another prof.take it!

straightforward class. she has interesting stories but she can get quite annoying sometimes. read the book thats where a majority of the points come from. she takes attendence sometimes, and it would be in your best interest to go to class bc she also does popquizzes. it was a "blah" class, for me anyways.

Fun teacher. Pretty easy class as long as you read. You have quizzes once a week and 2 exams which are both open notes based on lectures. While attendance isn't mandatory, you should still go because she gives out pop quizzes sometimes. I really enjoyed the book

Tedious (busy work) weekly outlines; you don't even get attendance points if you don't do the outline for the day. She aims to give lowest grades possible on the essays: our class has about 30 students, only ONE essay received an A so far. Condescending rude attitude towards students; very discouraging. AVOID THIS CLASS IF YOU CAN.

She's unrealistic in her requirements and grading. She expects you to do a ridiculous amount of work each week, then assigns 3 1page papers with so many requirements that it is nearly impossible to do well. I don't know if anyone else teaches Deviance, if so take them at all cost...or you'll regret it, I promise!

Terrible professor. One of the worst at csulb..too bad she's been working so long that she can't get fired. She doesn't care about the students and makes everyone feel stupid. You can get a C in this class, but anything better and you need to work really hard. Lots of busy work, weekly outlines can take 3 hours to complete or more and she gives full credit or no credit. Class is manditory, you miss to many points if you dont attend. Dont bother asking questions or guessing your grade on her 3 one page papers..

RIDICULOUSLY time consuming outlines due every Tuesday, quiz every Thursday. HARSH grader, average grade given on essays (3 a semester, 1 page) is a middle C. Condescending, doesn't answer questions in class, going to office hours doesn't help at all. No tests, but that doesn't make the class any easier.
