A very average professor who explained things well in Fall 2012. Your TAs are more who you're going to rely on, though. A pretty easy class overall. Don't forget the material afterwards though!! You'll need it for your Senior Design project. I'm serious.

Prof. Sen really tries to relate probability and statistics to biomedical applications. The exams are easy, you don't get a formula sheet so it's just memorization. It's like they try to take points off for notation and weird "flaws" though, which is strange. Discussion is no help. Didn't use the textbook at all, tried and failed, not worth it.

Sen has got to be the laziest professor at BU. He says he'll do something, and never do it, even if you pester him. The class really depends on the TA's you get.

Sen's fine, no big complaints. He teaches from powerpoints, sometimes rushes through a bit but you can print them off beforehand. The books are useless. Tests are almost exactly like the homework. And should you frequent the salsa clubs in Boston, you just may run into him...awkward.

Kamal is a very nice person that puts a lot of effort to improve the class, the class is not very difficult but having three sources to learn from (two books and Kamal's detailed notes) is very confusing. the main book is very unclear. the TF's are very helpfull and the grade for the class is based on three midterms and a final, homeworks are opt.

This is one of the easiest classes you will ever take at BU as a biomed. The textbook IS pretty useless, but discussion makes up for it. There are not many problems in class, but Sen CLEARLY defines and assigns material in Schaums to cover examples from the get go. Sen is awesome. He will go out of his way to help you, if you seek his help out.

HORRIBLE professor. Class is taught straight out of the horrible text book. Good luck to all of you sophomore BMEs.. This two credit course is like a four credit one with the amount of work he assigns but does not cover in class...

What, what are you saying Kamal? No one can understand you + your rushing. Good thing this is the easiest material BME majors will ever have to learn.

his teaching is kind of unclear, but the tests are really fair if you know what to do. honestly, i looked at all the examples in schaum's outlines before each test and didn't get lower than a 95 on any of them, its not bad

Material is easy but the textbook is terrible. Discussion is extremely helpful to go to because you dont do many examples in class. Tests were fair.

Class is useless, book is pretty bad. Sen is helpful during office hours, he really wants you to learn the material. Go to discussion or Office Hourse to learn material.

While Sen is a really nice guy, he has no idea how to teach this course. He was helpful only a few times in office hours when I was the only person there and he actually had time to explain what he's talking about. If you can, TAKE THE CAS EQUIVALENT!

He's a nice person to talk to but has no experience teaching and only creates power point presentations on the information in the horrible text with no added examples. It's too bad that the corse is required for the degree and only one section offered.
