Karen is very kind. I've taken multiple classes with her. She knows how to handle a class discussion. She brings up interesting topics and asks good questions. Her assignments are open and allow you to explore a whole matter of topics. She also does a good job at assigning a lot of different readings from varying perspectives.

Karen Carr seemed to have high expectations, so doing your work is important. I enjoyed our class discussions. The conversation usually stemmed from the reading, but occasionally digressed pretty far away from it. She did a great job of making making connections and getting us to think. I liked this class.

Our class discussions usually digress violently from the text at hand, but never so far that we aren't able to tie everything together in a broad, nebulous loop. I feel quite comfortable discussing difficult topics with her, and she's able to respond to everything I pitch out there. She's very big on gender issues.

I LOVE her. She really knows her stuff about gender/sexuality and femmenist issues and her class promises insightful and informed discussions that really make me think. i feel i have grown as a person through taking her class and reccomend her to anyone!
