One of the best professors I've ever had. Exams are all multiple choice and are based ONLY on lectures so don't bother with the book. Take detailed notes and you'll be fine. Every single question on the exam was covered in lecture... no surprises. Loved her meditation sessions which really help you calm down. TAKE HER! you learn a lot

The problem with her class is that there's no consistency. She would often ask questions about things she only briefly mentioned and were ignored by the book and her own powerpoints, her TAs would discuss topics that she would go on later to say should be ignored. Questions are also terribly worded. (She removed 20% of the first exam's questions)

One of the coolest professors I've ever had! She starts the lecture off with a grounding mindful moment. You can tell she is very smart and passionate about neuroscience. Although some topics maybe complex, she makes it easy to comprehend. The exams are very reflective of the material learned. Pay attention, take good notes, and you'll be fine.

The course materials can be challenging at times, but once you get them, they're pretty interesting. She's kind and always start the class with a "mindful moment" about her perspectives on life. There are 2 midterms and a final that's noncumulative. Recording her lectures would definitely help pass her class since the exams are lecture based.

She teaches in a clear way, and she explicitly tells you which information you need to know for the midterm. Also, apparently, the midterm grades are curved, so A+ is definitely doable. In general, I think her class is relatively easy compared to some other upper division psychology courses. I don't think people should whine about her "hard" exams.

She's an extremely intelligent professor and has cool things to say, but the test are so hard. The most received grade on mister one was an F and her reply was simply that those students will just drop. I don't think that very fair at all. If you don't have a good neuroscience background get ready to study extremely hard and expect to struggle.

Great class, great prof! Definitely recommend. She is super enthusiastic and explains the material very well. 2 midterms, 1 final all non-cumulative (multiple choice + short answer). No papers. No clickers. You should go to class if you want an A, only seeing the slides isn't good enough because a lot of what she says ends up on the exams.

This class is super easy! Her exams are multiple choice and her questions are basic recall from lecture. Half of the class scores higher than 95% on her midterms, and there is no cumulative final. She also likes to spend a lot of time talking about mindfulness and how to be happy during lecture. She is also super nice, I would recommend.

The best professor I've had at UCSD!!! I learned so much from this class, and the way she presents the material makes it difficult not to understand it. She's an excellent lecture, inspiring and cares for her students. She's very clear and if you follow her lectures, and study, you'll learn a ton and receive a good grade. TAKE HER CLASS!

Awesome teacher! She makes everything very clear and she clearly has a passion for teaching. Only used the book a little bit, but I would recommend reading if you want to get a solid A. And the class is interesting so you will LIKE reading the book. Going to class is mandatory since she doesn't do podcasting

Professor Dobkins is by far my favorite professor to date. Her lecturing style is crystal clear and her tests are very straight-forward. Having a bio background definitely helps with this class. If you don't have a bio background though you're going to have to put a bit more effort into studying but it's definitely not impossible to get an A.

She really is a great professor. The book was of little to no use, barely even glanced at it and got an A+. You only have to learn the slides she gives out and she is very clear. I recommend her, very easy A.

caring, approachable teacher. class isn't easy thou, and the extra credit points/experiment ratio is unfair
