Dr. OBrien has a reputation for being rude and snappy. I am a good student, pre-med Psych student, and this class makes you work. If you have Chem/Calc/STEM classes to worry about, dont even bother seriously, its not worth it. A lot of this was common sense and material I learned in previous PSYCH classes. The exams are pretty tough.

I would highly recommend 318D and 319D, but both classes are pretty difficult. It was a great experience volunteering the second semester, and Dr. O'Brien really cares about her students/their career development. Both classes require a lot of readings/writing, and the second semester is discussion-based, but it's really great prep for grad school.

Dr. O'Brien's class is somewhat interesting. A lot of the material is common sense and is largely redundant. These are things I can look past. Her biggest downfall is her personality. She is definitely passive yet aggressive. It's highly annoying. Do some research/volunteer on your own and you can get the same experience.

She is an amazing person that cares about her students well-being. It was because of her that I became interested in the field of domestic violence-- the opportunities that she can provide are invaluable. Take her class!

The class is fine, but don't dare go in with an opinion that is not the same as hers. She just loves to give dirty looks and make you feel like a jerk and in a class of like 20, not so fun. I took her domestic violence class and as a survivor, i had many opinions on the material. She just was not having any of it, it was offensive.

Dr. O'brien is extremely knowledgable in her field, however she does not transfer this knowledge to the classroom. I didn't learn anything from her, the actual class was a waste of time. She is also a strict grader. I do not recommend this class.
