Mrs. Olson was a breath of fresh air after having to drop my horrible ARTH 175 class last semester. She has a pretty good sense of humor, delivers information at a good pace, and not only makes it easy to study for her tests but also to take them. If you utilize her online study guides, you'll do fine. And good attendance gets you extra credit!

This lady is super easy, if you come to class you get extra credit. Her tests are really easy as long as you study a little. I would recommend taking her because she does not give as much work as the other art history professors do.

Comment:
If there is one word that describes Olson, it's eccentric. Her age shows in her old-fashioned sense of humor, but she's a hoot. She's well-traveled, so she's seen first-hand a lot of the works you'll study and knows them well. I won't say it was the most fun class, but overall a very easy, laid-back atmosphere.

Comment:
Professor Olson is one of the best professors at Winthrop University. I absolutely had no interest in Art History let alone Art, but she made the class interesting. One thingI must stressis attendance. Although it is not mandatory, she gives extra credit for coming and that helps a lot. I did not make above a C on her tests but passed with an A.

Mrs. Olson is quite a character. She has her own style of humor, but is actually really fun in the classroom. Just make sure you come to class everyday b/c at the end of the semester you get extra credit for it. And pay close attention to lectures b/c she sometimes throws little tid bits of information in that you wont find in your book but it will be on the test.
